I thought Moto were bad for bringing out new versions of the Razr but this Paris take the cake. Its just another P990.

That's not fair... Put a 128 MB RAM on P990 and it'll still top any device SE has come up with since...
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

I thought I would make a statement regarding the negative comments in this thread.

Whilst I don't mind anyone expressing constructive criticism, I would ask contributors to please have consideration for those who do come here just to view information on upcoming announcements - it sometimes gets hard to filter it out.

Thanks.

IMO the paris specs in mobile-review which is close to P1i except the 5mp camera really deserves to be named P200 or P2i. I hope SE will surprise us with two upcoming flavors of P-series. P2i and P5i.

Exactly what I said months back, qwerty and GPS aside its not too much better than the G900. Both will probobly have the same camera as well so I cannot see it selling more since it will be more expensive. I bet Paris will be fast and the hardware will be fine but its too similar to the G900. SE have made the G series phones a bit too good so the P series has to be even better. Hopefully Paris is announced as a P2 and somebody pulls out a P5 with a removable rocker qwerty flip leaving a huge screen.

Also, if the Paris hardware runs well who cares if its old? Maybe if you buy a car you could be criticised over its engine size but who would say the same about a phone? Just remember that scene from American Psycho when the guys show him their laminated business cards and you'll get what I mean.

Nice easter-egg in the webcast slides, btw: Some images show up the original path, e.g.:

Matador what kind of innovation do you want in the keyboard? I think the area is too small to do much more.

Sony Ericsson signed today an agreement with Acrodea, a Japan-based company, according to which, future mobile phones released globally by Sony Ericsson will come preloaded with Acrodea products. More exactly, the SE handsets will feature VIVID UI and VIVID Panorama, two software solutions developed by Acrodea in order to improve the multimedia and photo camera capabilities of mobile phones.

The VIVID UI platform was created by Acrodea as an advanced middleware capable of integrating mobile multimedia content, including videos, 3D graphics, animations and normal photos / images. The purpose of the VIVID UI is, apparently, to bring more graphically enhanced content to handsets and to end users, by allowing the creation of menu transitions and the emulation of menu content.

Developed together with Morpho, Inc., VIVID Panorama is Acrodea's middleware that can improve the functionality of mobile phone cameras. Using VIVID Panorama, we can take panoramic photos with almost any handset that features a camera with video recording. Acrodea says that, in order to take a panoramic shot with a mobile phone, all users have to do is turn on the video recording function and "pan the desired range". After that, VIVID Panorama automatically creates the photo, based on the captured video images. Pretty cool, isn't it?

For the moment, we can't say whether all the future Sony Ericsson handsets will come with Acrodea products, or only a few of them. But from the product's presentation, we assume that only high to mid-end devices will benefit from the announced improvements – we'll probably find out more about this in the months to come. Anyway, the Acrodea – SE collaboration surely represents good news for Sony Ericsson's fans as well as for mobile users in general. If the VIVID UI and VIVID Panorama significantly improve the phones released by Sony Ericsson, then we'll all be happy (panoramic) campers.
