Lol ? "Well done SE" ?
Its pathetic that SE let their customers wait this long for this option + for not even releasing a BROD-free K850 firmware!
Its good for people who have brod and want to repair it fast while their at home, but damn it SE. |

How about the apps and games I placed in my phone memory? The last time I placed them in my memory card before reflash, the phone didn't recognize them anymore...

For Java games and applications, whether you save them in M2 or phone memory, they will be totally wiped out. So, beware. |

That isnt entirely correct. The java files that are fully installed on the memory stick (games & apps) will remain if the memory stick is removed prior to using SEUS.. simply moving your javafiles from internal memory to external memory will not work because it partially leaves the file on the phone memory. Or even better i placed all my java files in the other folder on the memory card so if anything goes wrong i can install them all over. But as for file son internal memory they will be erased.

I don't know why they can't make it do a proper backup.
it could easily back up the dictionary, java apps, themes, alarms, shortcuts etc. and then reapply/install on restore without risk of contamination from older firmwares.
Not only for firware upgrades but for if you buy a newer model or get a replacement phone when you've dropped yours in your pint.
But as the restore only seems to want to go on to the same phone and only very basic things like contacts, there's no need for brand loyalty.
I'm sure some places, like japan, people just use the phone as is and get another in a few months.
People here at least tend to keep their phones for years and spend yonks setting them up and customising etc so get rather miffed if they have to set that up all over again, especially if it's because it's something that isn't nessicary. |
