^well ... it isnt, the announce would have been in EU so that time has passed. the announcement that was today was just a UiQ meeting.
the phones will be announced, unless SE decides to disappear, like their revenue. *zing*
ares has stated time and time again that itll come in may, were just getting anxious that SE has not announced a high caliber phone outside of the one they didnt even make. which is appalling, i personally dont consider it a SE phone nor will i acknowledge it further in this post.
G900 isnt worthy of the "9" nor the G700 of its "7", the only one that fit was the G502, then it should have been G690/G700. they are NOT highend nowhere NEAR high end. not for 2008 at least. then the W980 which has LESS features than the W960 and is hideous.
i have a SERIOUS question, does SE observe the competition or are they too concerned that everyone is looking at them (no leaks, no outside input from its users)?
SE by NOT taking risks, you inevitably take the biggest risk, and thats staying stagnant. no business can survive without challenging something ever, as proven by the FOURTY EIGHT PERCENT LOSS IN REVENUE, 48% ... now when you need the money to push new tech, you cant even though they increased R&D investment, they are hedging it with lowend volume sellers instead of brand pushers. |

I seem to recall having a rant about Paris being not so hot some time ago and then being ripped apart by some of the people here. Anyways, as people start hating the device, I start to like it a bit more.
It probobly won't be the ultimate phone but I bet it will be very good anyhow. I still prefer UIQ to WM as do many of you and I'm sure many will buy it as well. Right now the HTC Diamond is the most desirable handset but Paris is still a good match, maybe not in terms of looks though. Many were expecting the Sony Ericsson 'I will rule the world and eat Nokia alive' phone, which is always going to end in disappointment.
My hopes are with the Walkman phones. They always look good and I eagerly await the next high end touchscreen offering, hopefully with a very good interface. Like the W960, it should do all the functions of a smartphone as well but I hope they make one with the accelerometer, shake control and as many of the cool features that they can fit in.

I know every day goes without seeing a high-end from  makes fans expecting more advance high-end and heart-breaker design & spec. but as nothing more is changing with these days except some software/hardware tweak and rarly hardware upgrade then most times from 2007 till now, users are not satisfied with ...
this rumor forum is part of the problem, each time we visit the forum make us remember more, and make the wait longer not because it's long but because we give it more time that we really should !!
I don't want a superhero phone from I just wat balanced spec. & quality to make it competitive againest other makers for several months

I shall reserve final judgment when Paris is officially unveiled, as I cannot fully believe the thing is powered by a 2-year-old chip. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. That's for the official announcement to decide. With all the prototypes floating around with dozens of different combinations of technology, who knows which one this latest one is.
I will say that there are many other phones out there deserving of my money if Paris is indeed as underpowered as it has been made out to appear today.

There's something wrong with all those leaked paris specs. If those were true then P1i users have NO reason to upgrade to paris. Those must be just demo units like in PC where they are use lower clocked processors.
Logicaly, the final production should use a better processor or else it's just another P1i in a thicker body. |

Just like the rest of this thread, everything must be taken with a grain of salt--just because someone has pictures of a device running an embarrassingly old processor does not mean this is the final production model. Then again, maybe it does. This is why I refuse to be truly disappointed until the end of May.
Just as someone else said, there was a proto with a 2.6 QVGA screen and another with VGA (presumably 2.8 ). This looks like the first one...and therefore is not final.
But we shall see.
ETA: Also, for the record, I go to PDAdb often to point and laugh....they are never correct until the official specs are released. Before that, all they do is guess at specs--badly.

Man is there a lot of people talking s... here. I can understand everbody who looses there patience because it ahs been a f....... long time aiting for this phone. But for nearly a month now we know that it will be announced before the end of may. All the people which I trust in this place have said it will not have a 208cpu but there have been three (seriously waste of ten minutes i will never get back) pages of people bitching about some s... info from some f..... site with 0 credibility.
I come here to get information first hand about upcoming SE products and all i do is waste my time... not with PK, Mizzle, or m-one plus some others... but with people constantly bitching about a company they "so dearly" love. Seriously for all you haters there are plenty nokia forums to bitch about SE products go there and meet some friends! This is not a forum to discuss business and marketing strategies it is forum for people who are positvly interested in the upcoming SE products of 2008!
