I'm depressed of the fact that my cellphone's price has dropped to less than half of what it was when i bought it:-(. Big money loss for me. Should have waited 3 months more before buying.

I love writing poetry- '
In days of old, when men were bold,
And paper not invented,
They wiped their ass,
Upon the grass,
And went away contented.
'
I guess lack of sleep is causing me to lose it!

Depression is believing a lie that you have forced upon yourself. It is a shame, because if you think something is depressing it will turn out to be, its all psychological.

To all those who are feeling sad right now i have some advice-
One can be pessimistic about being sad by calling it semi joy !

im sorry, depression is not THINKING you are depressed, ok, some people will inevitably make things worse than they seem.
When one of your friends commits suicide from depression come back and say its all in the mind.

It's been said that Suicide is a long term solution to a short term problem. I agree.
One of my friends commited suicide in 1992 at the age of 20.
He had left school and couldn't find an apprenticeship in his chosen industry. He had to work part time evenings and weekends and became isolated from his peers. The day before his funeral a business aquaintence of his father's rang with an offer of an apprenticeship... |

My 2p worth: depression is an ILLNESS, not 'being sad', etc.. Saying that positive thinking or what have you combats depression is about as useful as saying positive thinking cures a broken leg.
Depressed people are ill, can be treated, and are not just miserable. |

i wouldn't agree. depression as a term is used for various grades of mood 'disruption' (not sure how it's said in english) so depression is not illness. that's the case only when it happens without external visible cause.
