FYI I too can view cnbc from airtel site. And it streams very good.

EDGE is approx 3 times faster than gprs.

For very good streaming, you need to have 20kbps. So i'm sure, it can give something in that range or better. With my experience with broadband, 56k dialup and gprs, i can say with reasonable confidence that it can give real time speed of about 25kbps on a good day.
