They tell me the 610 is the only SE phone to be added this year.
Why release an old discontinued model that Rogers was selling for a year?
Why can't we get more recent models ie T637 or even K700 or S700?
Maybe waiting for Telus to offer them after the buyout? |

About the t610, thats what I'm saying. They use to have the 610, then it was discontinued and Rogers now has the 616...Now they're re-releasing it? I think we can forget about the S710 for a while, it would probably be like 1500$ or something...then again, prices with Fido don't always make sense, like p800 and p900 costing exactly the same thing...
I'm really not crazy about Telus buying them out, though people @ fido keep telling me that all offers are being rejected...I guess we'd need an insider's comments

Hey Anna, you'll have to contact Rogers for that...neither SE or Rogers have the info on their websites, and I did a search which turned up nothing...sorry

I got the settings from Rogers, but for some reason it ain't working.... any suggestions? Is it possible to enter the settings in the wrong place?? |

rogers gave me the following information:
MMS Settings:
APN: media.com
Username: media
Password: mda01
Gateway IP: 172.25.0.107
Message Server: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
I assumed you just enter the information under 'data accounts' under connectivity..... i'm probably wrong.... when it asked for 'APN' i put in media.com...when it asked for username, i put in media....etc. etc. etc.
suggestions?

Hey Anna,
try this link, it shows manual setup for the k700i, just replace their info with the one Rogers gave you...other than that, I don't know how different the k700 menus are from similar models (my p800 is totally different)...Hope it helps, let me know

1. set up new Data Account : RogersMedia (arbitary)
APN= media.com
User ID=media
Password=mda01
IP= (blank... if you put anything here, you will have no access)
2. set up new WAP profile: RogersMMS (arbitary)
Connect Using = RogersMedia (name used in step 1)
IP Address= 172.25.0.107
3. MMS Options
Message Server= http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
WAP Profile=RogersMMS (name used in step 2)

How's everyone been? I was off Esato for a bit, but will be here more regularly from now on...
Just a little anecdote...
I was in the waiting room @ a medical clinic this morning and was minding my own business...then I see a woman sitting across me, probably in her mid to late 30's, making a phone call...using a P800! From the looks of it, she didnt seem to be in the best financial situation, yet she's holding a 1000$ phone! I found it quite amusing, wondering if she knew how to used besides making phone calls... I noticed the stylus was missing, I even thought of offering her mine since I have 2 spare ones @ home, but then my name was called lol
Anyways, keep posting, I'll try to get this forum out of the quiet zone

hey...just got back from my trip to london england...if anyones interested they can check out my pics that ive posted over in the K700 pictures forum under general
btw..my friend who works at some cell phone store has somehow managed to be getting in a S700...one that SE is letting him try out and show customers..you know..the whole marketing thing..anyways i get to try it out, should be good

Let us know what you think of the S700, i'm personally very skeptical of its use as a phone, not too keen on that swivel-type design...
