Mean or just realistic ?....
Positive thinking is good, being a realist is better.

So Sweetheart still thinks a ROM-application can be executed from C/D:

It is about getting it hexed, changing the command lines! Did u even see how the communicorder works?

I would not speak here if i kew i had no chance to get it to work from the internal or external drive of the p800...

I am not giving hope here.. i am just saying what i am thinkin..

Now for your information > i was able to replace the communicam icon, now it is set to the communicorder icon and it is named communicorder and of course it starts the communicam

i would like to start communicorder instead of communicam But is a good start! I think that in a few days you`ll have a functional communicorder for P800! I see no reason for not working on P800...if u can hex edit...

P.S - i saw that if you copy all files of a rom based app(Jotter for example) to d drive let`s say, when you start it it says "application isn`t registered" or "corrupt" ! but if that app is already opened when you launch it from d drive now will work...so it`s recognized somehow on d drive...There must be a way to trick the OS to launch the communicorder app from c or d drive!

Im getting a new DIV 8.4 flashing suite soon from www.sonyericssonflasher.com . I'll try to find a full Firmware/Software file dump of the p900 on thir support page once i get it.

I cannot access the support area as i dont have an account yet.
I'll be getting it roughly by the end of November. If this isn't what your after please tell me.

So I can conclude that Those who never tried, tried again.

Weird.

I'm not really mean, just telling you that I don't think Sweetheart will succeed in this case. Simple reason: the task would require too much work even for a professional programmer (not remotely comparable with making a sis file from the CamCoder files).

Why is the task so big? Because the CommuniCorder present on the P900's Z: drive was generated by SE for executing _exclusively_ in ROM. Normal installable applications (like the CamCoder) are generated for executing in RAM. The two forms are absolutely incompatible, due to different addressing, whose references are dispersed in the binary .app code.

Changing a ROM-application into a normal one is not the question of hexa-editing some strings in .app files. Just starting the task in a meaningful way would require a deep understanding of ARMI instructions, binary debugging, and reverse engineering in general. Saying that "I try it anyway" is a good indication of lacking all these.

I let you know this because there might be some people out there who are hesitating whether to buy a P900 or not, and their decision might depend partly on the availability of the CommuniCorder on the P800. They might need solid info on the chances.

Surely there are people as well who are used to and may be even enjoy living in (false) expectations. I can understand them - but this one here is a technical question, not like religion.

In any case, Sweetheart's intention to help people here is appreciated. He is surely an inventive and helpful guy.

'coz I know how damn hard it would be and how little the chance is to succeed at all. For the real god it's different for sure
