Didn’t use any backup/restore, just synchronize everything with Outlook (Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes).

And forget this bug, it work alright, just now (P990 restarting in order to improve performance is when I open the Radio in FC mode).

Maybe some 3rd application was interfering.

Just has a problem with the R9 firmware which I have never had before ;

Phone was ringing so I press the answer button and the phone reset itself and so I missed the call!

I've had this happen to be 3 times since my upgrade (R7 to R9). I've done a master reset today maybe it will help.

I will update my previous reply. The same scenario happened to me today. Phone rings, I press "Yes" and it restarts. The call was logged correctly though. I was not running any other applications and the memory should have been around 13-14 MB as I had my first reset yesterday. This seems to be happening to a number of us so it's not good. I had done an internal format and a master reset before the update, so that wouldn't be a solution for me.

This happened to me twice yesterday withing the space of a few hours. the space available (in File manager) on my phone is almost always is 59MB in the phone memory and 942MB on the 1GB San Disk MEM STCK.

The memory you are referring to is RAM used for storage, this has nothing to do with RAM available for applications to run. Over extended use (more than 1 day) the available RAM seems to hover around 7.5-8 MB, which is half of what is available at startup! This is serious memory leakage.

Do you have any information on what the differences are between levels 1-3? Apparently all the documentation still refers to v 1.20 and this is a new feature.

To answer the above questions, here is some info stolen from the SM internal docs.

- Level 1: Tells the OS to compress memory. In UIQ2 this resulted in a lot of freed memory without closing any app, however it does just nothing in UIQ3. This level is included in the hope that some later firmware will enable it.

- Level 2: Restarts the built-in Task Manager which sometimes results in some extra free memory. (In SMP 1.00 this was the "aggressive" option.)

- Level 3: Closes SecurityApp (resulting in a device crash IF phone lock is enabled). Moreover, Level 3 allocates all available memory. The effect is that the operating system tells all running programs that memory became scarce. Most apps will react by closing themselves. Important: this method results in (almost) all apps being killed, even those excluded in SM, because it is done by the OS, not directly by SM, like in the case of the "End all tasks" command (which respects exclusions). Finally, the allocated memory is made available again by SM and the end-result can be some more available memory.

That problem was mentioned already, and so the solution - delete jad/jar/sys files on the private folder of memory stick

Thanks for the solution, but I don't think it would work. I suspected that there would be files I would have to delete in the memorystick so to test it, I took the memorystick out since I wasn't sure which jad/jar/sys files I should delete. I was afraid I'd accidentally delete the apps I would want to retain. The prompt to reinstall apps still popped out without the memorystick in the phone so I doubt deleting the files would solve the problem. I installed the 3rd party apps on my memorystick by the way, could they find their way to the phone memory?

Because you have apps installed on the C drive...all my apps are on the memory stick, so i don´t have problems

In FC mode: More -> Status, scroll down a little...
In FO mode you can use Swiss Manager.

in FC mode I see I got 13.6MB available. How do I make more memory available? How do i transfer applications to the MEM STCK?

Does anyone know if there is documention for the latest FW release in the public domain.

Do we know what issues this was to address?

Strange problem after the fw update. If you open the webbrowser and go to bookmarks it shows all the bookmarks. Once you go to a seperate folder with bookmarks (for instance "news") it shows all your bookmarks listed in that category. Now when you return to all bookmarks it says that it can't find any information. It seems if there are no bookmarks at all. Does anyone noticed this or know of any solution? Thanks!

I had the same problem. I thought it was a hardware problem. I removed it and sent it in for service. Haven't got it back yet. I am FO right now. The guy in the store tried it on his P990 with the same result.
