Please everybody just keeps tracking the problem on r9 firmware in this topic. just easy for tracking.

Here are mine; I’ve update my phone two days ago, my previous firmware was r2 organization or r4 phone. After update it's little bit faster but have some problem on text input method. Some time it's just got wrong like where should be input on numeric, there abcd. This problem everywhere I faced. Just like message option, wap setting sms's pin input aria. from qwerty keyboard some time default become uppder keyword, in this time del isn't work, i have to ALT+del key to work. (I did master reset before and after update) Anybody has the same problem?
And also has restart while just simply going to answer an incoming call; and say restart for improvement.

Adnan

When I type the SIM-passowrd and the phone password, the numbers are shown for a second befor they become ****.

Sometimes, the media player (video) won't respond. But I don't need to reboot the phone. It's just to wait for a while
In Opera Mobile, still XML error, and the home page cannot be canged (not a bug, but it sucks!).

Still lag when recording video with sound to memory stick on 4 GB.

The extreamly fast menus isn't as fast as they should be. I got a P990i with R9EA001 and one with R3A. The menus are NOT faster with R9

It has a function that shall configurate MMS and GPRS automaticly. Doesn't work.

Isn't this SE's bug-free FW version? No way! It got lots of bugs!

i don´t doubt you, but you only mentioned a few...about the speed of the menus, just compare critical aspects has opening contacts with what was before...i have 400 contacts, they now open on 3 secs, they took an eternity before

My problems with RA14 Organizer Firmware are this ones, and very few are really bugs:

lack of bookmarks button on opera
lack of option to switch off transitions (although sometimes they are off, even withou video running on backgrouns - weird)
memory management should be more improved, although now i have NO reboots at all and few kernel errors (1 since tuesday)
lack of information on standby screen like M600
can´t change menu icons like on M600
rss reader should support images
image thumbnails and applicacion icons are low res or suffer from compression, just like contacts images

Well, I have now a 'strange' sound when using a headset, either Bluetooth or with the plug, and doing a voice dial. After it repeats the name I spoke, there is this beeping/hissing sound before the phone actually dials. It was not there before with R7 so it is fw related.

This sound is very lound with the bluetooth set and very annoying. Anybody else recognized that?

You sure your code doesn;t start with a digit from the emergency number list?

999, 911 112 etc.

Yes, it's the way the rest of the phone works for password boxes. Mostly meant for handwriting, to make sure it recognized the right character.

Still a lot to go for. Needs more memory. It doesn't allow now programs to boot up automatically after restart like swiss manager pro. The sound now is horribly low. I can barely hear while it was better in the previous firmware. No clock is shown when using a program. The bookmark button in opera has vanished. Still slow compared to my old P910. Now am having some problems uninstalling some software like IM+, it simply stucks in the middle & many other...

That feature i'm aware of (TBH, the capitalisation of the p/word is annoying) but the OP mentions typing the sim-password which is quite different.

@Popolou:
Yeah, I know, I'm stuck with the same issue... Quite annoying, but then again, you probably wouldn't show anyone your screen (or keyboard) while typing the SIM p/w anyway... Either way, this is a bad and useless change as you can't use handwriting in that box anyway (or can you?).

(Sorry for going a bit off topic by not listing new issues...)

I'm not sure this could be called a bug but here it goes:

The SMS composer defaults to a large font. This adds seven characters to the message so that a message can not contain more than 153 characters without being slit into two separate messages. If you change to medium font size then the full 160 characters can be used for a single message.

These seven control characters that gets added to the message to set a large font causes problems with the automated system we have here in Oman for paying car parking fees. When sending an SMS to pay for parking I have to remember to set medium font size, otherwise the SMS will be rejected.

@AbuBasim:
It defaults to Medium for me, I even tried to change the Zoom property of Messaging, but it stayed at Medium... (Unbranded, Generic World 1)

@firetech:
Interesting. My phone is also Generic 1. Let me figure out why my SMS defaults are different . . .

(BTW, du kanske skulle ändra ditt ortsnamn i din profil. Våra indiska vänner här i forumet kanske annars får fnissattacker. "Lund" på Hindi är en grövre variant av det svenska "Petter-Niklas".)

Completly wrong...most problems reported are individual and not reproduced in all users

The general idea is that this is the firmware that should come in first place on the p990 - that should give you and idea
