It's just an internal product video 
As you know the official product videos start with the names of the handsets.
This one starts with the codename - Paris.
The outtakes shown recently are from the animated part of the video.
So it looks kinda photoshopped. The screen size is 2.8" AFAIK.
With this dimensions I think we'll see VGA resolution but that is something I can hardly get confirmed.
Also I can't confirm the 14th. I was told it being announced in the end of May.
We just have to wait and see.

m-one, the firs time i heard about qualcom and a >500mhz processor, months ago, was in relation with UIQ devices.
I also was told they would share resources between UIQ and WM devices, so...
However, the main fact is that these new UIQ 3.3 devices won´t be underpowered in terms of processing power like UIQ 3.0 phones. That we say for sure.
Regarding the 14th date, the person who told me about it last week did not said it was surely the date for Paris. However, at that time, i did not know there was any SE event in that day...and now we know there will be something, so who knows

Ares, I was told the same  The Qualcomm processor can be used with WM as well as Symbian. I think it is the same used in the X1 - MSM7200.

I'm still not holding my breath for the 14th, but I do thank both of you for the information about the processor.
ETA: When the person on my-symbian said the SE person told them the processor is "not new," well, the Qualcomm chip used in the X1 is not new because it is used in the X1...so maybe that's what they meant, but couldn't elaborate on.

You, me and hundreds of others all hope you are way off the mark.
The thing is, the only non-smart (feature) phones we have seen spyshots of recently is the G502 and Z780 which are already announced. Most - if not all - of the rest have been smartphones.
Its seems inconceivable to expect no more feature phones will be announced in the coming weeks.

how many phones were announced last year when they gave us the w910/960 and k850 all at ONE conference?
namely there will be phones that we havent seen, potentially being announced sometime in the next 4 months ... seeing as how some of them are speculated for release in sept of 08 |

M-one. I remember reading in your forum something about (I speak generally because I had to use google translator) UIQ4 and the end of the year. Were you referring to: UIQ4 being announced at the end of the year? UIQ4 handsets being announced at the end of the year? Or UIQ4 handsets being released at the end of the year? (I hope for the very unlikely last one! )
The same Qualcomm chip as the X1 would make sense for Paris, given the rumoured specs. However, considering that they are just that, rumours, nothing can be confirmed until announcement.

It was actually planned to reveal the "UIQ4" by the end of this year.
But plans do change very fast these days. Unfortunately I didn't hear much more about
the completely new UIQ version.  |

Oh okay, cheers. Its really tempting to wait for it, in a way. But still, you'd think that SE would try their best to gloss over the UIQ3.3 interface better than any other we've seen so far.
That would be the only difference between UIQ3.3 and UIQ4 as far as I'm concerned, because if Paris has the Qualcomm chip the X1 has, then the performance of the hardware in most respects is already there. |
