why i never havnt any BROD or reboots must depends on 2 things:
¤ plain luck
or more likely
¤ im allways using EMMA(dpy-flashing) when i uppdating my firmwares
and mine had been flashed via customer service once.
So it may really be corrupted firmware. what d'ya think? |

Ive been getting a huge amount of reboots and the guy in cpw tried saying it was from using a memory card that was too big, mines 4g
Keeping fingers crossed that RIF will settle things down, finally got to down load it yesterday, cant see any difference in performance. |

Restarts have nothing to do with memory stick imo. your phone has something wrong with the firmware in my opinion. The 4GB card is not that big for K850's platform A200... It should also support 8GB cards aswell. 4gb and 8gb cards are supported by older DB2020 phones like K800 or 810 and they have the same filesystem. No reason why it's should too big for your phone...

The camera lens cover started to misbehave and doesn't always open. From what I read, this WAS solved in the past.
I am getting the same, and I think I had it two versions ago. I think it might be related to over-agressive power management and the cover sometimes being a little stuck. If the cover doesn't open, all I need to do is to connect my k850 to a charger or to a usb port and try to open the camera cover while connected. It has fixed the issue every time until now, and usually the cover will work perfectly for some time before getting stuck again. My only problem is if this happens away from a pc or a charger... |

I can't understand because the first post is not updated...
If mwarner can't follow this thread we need a new official firmware thread...

K850 platform should have support to up 32 GB memory cards. Only if they are bigger.. should be a problem.
@ sblantipodi
Its weird that mwarner not updated the first post like he did with other f/w releases.

Does anyone know if there is a new firmware out that allows K850 to use flash themes. XS++ says phone is not supported but there is a YouTube video showing a K850 with flash themes
There wont be a firmware coming out for any SE phone to support custom flash menu's and themes.
People are saying XS++ 3.2 will support the new platform (which includes the K850), but it isnt out yet.
What you saw on youtube was done with a SE Tool box, which is quite expensive, best thing you can do is wait for a new, stable version of XS++.
Huh? Of course it's possible to use flash menus and themes on any K850 firmware... and you forgot to mention Davinci for flashing the phone... you can flash any file and the price is 10 Euros, which is about $16. Not tooooo expensive, if you ask me.
I already have 9 different flash themes (including flash menus) on my K850 and I'm loving it! |

I've had this too. Once i tries to open the camera lence, it would get to the cybershot splash screen, i would hear a quiet wine then black. Restart solved it |

I completely think, that the brod firmwares, use some kind of overclocking, to gain speed.
Some phones tolerate overclocking better than others.
My phone broded in stand by, I dont change or use anything, so a file that was fine, gets corruptly randomly. |

@jbbrs & harry20larry
The funny thing is that the previous FW (R1DA) didn't have this problem, only the R1CA029 (first release) had it and it was solved.
Unlike your phone, jbbrs, mine manages to open the lens cover if I exit back to the stand-by screen and then start the camera again. No plugging or restart needed.
How about the other problem: phone reboot when stopping video recording without saving what you shot? Did anybody else had this?
K850i was the SE's most superb phone. And failure. Advanced to Android. |
