It sort of looks metal-y. I don't know. As long as it's substantial.

I would like to know too

I also wanted to ask the same question, and I don't believe it's a screen protector. In my opinion, it's too thick to be, and it seems to be built-in stuff.

Fake mobile pictured?

What??? Man...this is real, period. And that can only be a screen protector. The guy that posted the photos is probably someone from Vodafone UK that is already testing the phone.

I donīget why there is always some guy shouting "fake" to everything, even when the photos are clearly real...

Ditto. I know shouting "FAKE!" is the cool thing to do nowadays, but it's easy to tell what is PhotoShopped and what isn't...and this isn't.

And even if it were, it's not like this is the first time we've seen the phone. It matches up exactly with what we know to be true.

I think you are getting hung up on the term "screen protector." Its not an aftermarket screen protector that you buy to protect the screen during use. It is what SE includes in the packaging to protect the screen during shipping. Its meant to be removed before you start using the phone. All phones are shipped with these plastic sheets.

In fact, seeing this makes the validity of these pictures that much more convincing and makes me believe this is a unit that SE actually put in a box ready to be sold or shipped to someone.

The question what the strip under the screen is for? Maybe later today. Have to clear a few things.

Just popping in...

Yes, that strip was bugging me. Do you rub your finger(s) along it to navigate pages, websites, album art etc? Or is it for OLED illumination?

Ooh, that finger strip sounds nice. But just a horizontal one and not a vertical one?

What would be the purpose of an OLED illumination?

Sorry still too thick to be any screen protector on the market. However I do think its the actual screen plastic face peeling off. Like the SE z520 internal screen is submerged into the facia, but there is a slightly thick plastic layer that is over the screen & around the border that CAN be peeled off (I don't recommend doing it). I know because my z520 screen is doing that RIGHT now and I gave it away as an emergency phone to one of my girlfriends friends.

This is what I think it is.

And REAL is a LOOSE term. This can be a REAL Paris model (not a fully functioning prototype). How come now shots of it being powered ON!? At least the leaked real prototype pictures of Nokia's Liam & Dora are powered on. This is what I was hoping for on this Paris .... maybe next month we'll see powered on pics.

Because it isn't a screen protector "on the market." That is the entire point. It's one of those crappy packaging protectors they ship with the phone that you're supposed to immediately peel off and throw away.

Oh, if only we could all get what we want. But you know, if you try sometimes you just might get what you need.

They are not mutually exclusive you know. This board can easily accommodate both topics and probably even one or two others.

Iīd say there is a "good" chance that will happen, because the phone will be presented in May

@dr.w
was just kidding..

there is still a lot of things about paris that needs to be cleared out... but most of them are software (or hardware) based... that we will never know untill it's annoncment.. and seeing the official spec sheet.

.
and you're right... just wanting something will not give you anything.!!
