Thanks R0sewhite!
I ran into problem alredy at the point where you say that I should go through the connecting menu. I dont know what menu that is and I dont seem to find any suitable menu.
I feel like fool but if you could help me press the right menu option or post a pic of how it should look like it would be great

@floke:
strangely enough there is nothing to find about in the DT570 manual. I only found an advice not to enter the Network menu since changes can cause the phone to loose connection to its DECT/GAP base. Very funny...
Well, I only have a TH688 here but I think the menu functions only differ slightly. You should find a "Edit List" entry in the networks menu where you can add a new network. Since the Siemens base will only be in detection mode for a short while (30 sec to 1 min) it is a good activate it in the moment when you click on "add new network". Then you should have time enough to go through all the steps as long as the Siemens station is trying to connect.

@R0sewhite:
It worked exactly the way you described it and now I am a happy caller with style!
What a difference between an old heavy and sturdy Ericsson and a new squeeky plastic Siemens.
I had forgotten about those horrible ringtones though...
Thanks again |

@hanky:
congratulations, it still looks good. A non-working backlight can be either a broken high voltage transformer or the display assembly itself. In rare cases it's only the clip lock of the flex cables that lead from the display to the board. In the worst case: I still have some new R380 displays.
@loonee:
What's that on the left? Looks like my mom's old mixer or a shaker but it could also be an outdoor coffee cup.
By the way: Looks nice, doesn't it? Got 2 of them:

@Boba:
No differences as far as I can see. Since they both came with a final FW I did an update to the latest FW and they seem to be fully working. Only the standby time of the battery seems to be shorter comparing to a final R520.
@tranced:
This is also my big disadvantage to other collectors: I don't want to have phones when they're not in unused condition. When I've got my Hedvig for example it came with a damaged painting. I went to a car-painter and they mixed 1/2 liter of laquer for me only to restore the Hedvig cover. I also bought a complete airbrush set only to restore this one phone. Being a perfectionist isn't easy

What a joke: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230119165570
"an absolutely rare phone", "there were just a few of them", "very rare" - well, I can't count how much of them I have seen on eBay
"mint condition" - seems he doesn't know that they keypad should be matt and not shiny
"I have removed the flip. It's only for covering the keypad" - and what about the activ function to turn off the background light immediately and to turn on the keylock?
Sometimes I really wonder what's going on in people's minds.
