Kinda off topic-but pretty important to me.
My k750 is geting weary and I'm starting to look for a new companion.
What I want to know is if se is going to release any compact (do not consider the k850 to be compact), fast, high end a/f phone- say a succesor to the k770/t650, w810/w610 etc. ?
How big is Shiho going to be? (biger/smaller; slimmer/thicker than k850)?
(edited for spelling mistakes)

Im in the same boat as you oddie, my k700 joystick is almost dead, and semptember is looking like a long, long way away. It hopefully will be worth the wait. If the May announcements dont impress me, then I will have to get the G900 or the HTC Touch Diamond (bit of an obvious choice which...), and I want an SE

I could answer the same thing just out of my head, honestly we all know that we're BEFORE, not AFTER, PK.

I really hope this next imaging flagship gives the K series (or whatever name the next high-end imaging se gets) back the honor and glory. As far as I'm concerned the last true compact,DEPENDABLE,high-end K was the k810- which I may add is over a year old now. That's why I'm having a really hard time picking- do I get a time-tested classic or wait for Shiho?
PK- do you think it will meet the bill??

I don't understand SE - if small screen, why touchscreen? The phone will work slower, color of screen will be antiseptic

Has the ’Designation Key’ on goldenface original post been confirmed?
Does anyone know where the key came from, ie who originally posted it?
If accurate it only seems to apply to the C and G series, so far, as it doesn’t apply to W980, which was launched at the same time. W980 should have been W986 or something, if it were the successor to W97X.
I also see that SEMC will have trouble coming up with new model names, if they don’t decide to stop using 0 at the end of Walkman phones.

Another thing that I have to ask when it comes to the key; why 3 numbers for candybar, 2 for sliders and 3 for clamshells? Is it due to the number off products planned for each type or are there different types of types. Like the C902, is that a Candybar or a Slider? Is X1 a Slider or a side/horizontal Slider?
Is the Z-family the same type of clamshell as the Nokia E90?

The Designation Key looks very reliable and official, but I’m sceptical.

To Oddie: What’s wrong with the C902?

The naming scheme was originally posted by m-one at SE-World and USEB. It's from SE internal sources. You want something official? Hosts & hostesses at CeBIT confirmed they were coached on this scheme. With m-one's pic. SE uses that for their coachings. That's about as official as if I would've called Dick himself.

you really think you'll get a proper reply? it'll probably be "the next storm is just around the corner, just have some patience, and a jacket " lol

W61S

i guess the most pertinent ?uestion would be will shiho resemble the W61s with its 2.8" VGA screen and 5.1mp cam + 3x optizoom?

as described earlier it is a slider, the only thing is that the back of the W61s get slimmer towards to bottom, i don't know whats u with the design folks at SE but its these little things that they shouldn't do but consistently repeat these aesthetic miscues just make it the same width all the way around, its really not hard.

rant

sorry but they seem (Shiho/W61s) to be running on the same track, i hope that we get to see the GSM offering soon enough. no one has mentioned this phone in this thread, whats that about?

EXMOR sensor + and ISO1600 setting, this is what we want on the GSM side, and you all tell me its unfeasible due to costs, psssshaw

Thanks Xellar for the response. After some digging @ USEB I found m-one post and the comments to it, which explained a few things, but not all. W and Z series don’t fit this, so SEMC needs to change them around if they want to keep them. They may abandon the Z series, but I can’t see them abandoning the W series.
I would also love for the P and X series to follow this as well so that you would get an idea about where the new devices fit in the range so you would know more what to expect in these series, but perhaps SEMC doesn’t know yet.
