Just updated from ADRIATIC R1EA037 to R1FA035, as always too much hype behind this new firmware...

As always you see performance improvement, better audio, faster java...
This is absolutely not true...

This firmware has the SAME performance and the SAME audio of the previous one.
I run many benchmark before updating to new firmware and the results are the same...

Performance improvement in this firmware is only hype...
Download FPC Bench a good benchmark/system info for your phone.
Download Pocket Inclinometer for your phone's accelerometer.

I have just checked SEUS and O2 is still showing that it has the latest update which is R1EA031

Just had a BROD on Wednesday, just as the new firmware makes its appearance.

Off to Vodafone repairs, and they have reported the problem as follows:-

A fully qualified technician diagnosed the fault on your phone - it was caused by corrupt/faulty software. To correct this problem, a software upgrade was carried out on your phone. As this corruption can be imported via ring tone or other downloads, SMS/MMS and other internet use it may not have been possible to save your stored data and settings because the software upgrade would override them.

As I'm on Vodafone I hope the upgraded software is the new software!

If so, it means Vodafone UK are near to approving it for release.

Will let you know when it arrives back.

Arrived back this morning ...and...no surprises really but a fresh install of R1EA031!!

Will wait until the new one gets Vodafones approval and is available.
Until then its back to the trusty K800i...

10 days to go!
To be sure it's BROD free,I don't have a warranty on my K850(grey market) so I preffer to wait a couple of days, though I think this one is finally clean, with FW 037(new one) the BROD victims appeared only 48h after it was released here on this very topic

Use something like Davinchi to change the firmware to one with a different CDA.

From the response I got from Davinci, there should not be an issue with SEUS, the released generic firmware should update fine with SEUS,but being as it's the latest version you will get the "No Update Available,Your Phone Has The Latest Software Installed" message. So imo the only way for anyone to say it will not work with SEUS is to wait till the next firmware is released, then if it does not update then you would know for certain. I have had no issues with the "generic" version,as I stated the only difference was that the generic added all the languages available.

Used the new firmware for a few days now and the only thing I've noticed is that the media interface is slightly faster. Everything else is the same, battery life is still good.

Yeah, I know, but I just got the phone with the R1EA037 firmware from the technical service of SE and with that CDA. That's the second time I've had to take it there so it's becoming more and more irritating...

I suppose I'll have to take it back to SE and ask them to flash it again with the new firm. I just hope they won't be reluctant to do that as the phone is "supposed" to work fine.

What shall I do then?

Updated to R1F for my ATRIATIC phone a few minutes ago. Works fine.

By the way, in software information menu the

memory stick: no file available

is still present.

What does this mean? Is this a bug?
Ciao
