@ S4K1s, Hoping you may look at these few radical ideas .... tell me what you think, please .

Considering SE just lost their first title of the best camera phone to the N82, I'm thinking SE is going BACK to the drawing board on their next Cybershot high-end phone, and autofocus is not enough. I'm HOPING, nah, EXPECTING hardware video decoding/encoding support for pictures & video! I'd like to have DIVX video recording support. It only fits because many of us - at least I do - have a PS3 and would like to transfer pics & video over to my PS3 via bluetooth. I can do it over USB though which is pretty cool.

SE should NOW make the Cybershot lineup with GLASS lenses on their phones from NOW ON! I'm hoping to see the high-end Cybershot delayed past August this year and when announced includes the Liquid Lense technology which gives Optical Zoom! Many of us have been tainted with the Cybershot brand due to the K850i BROD/Reboot issues. I still LOVE it but I'm hoping that Metal is used extensively from now on in a Cybershot phone class for the top tier model to resemble quality build, not a fragile phone.

:Walkman: class. Hmm where to start. Many ppl expect a 3.5mm jack directly into the phone, but you'll loose accessory connection. I'd like a dedicated DSP chip within ALL future models for hardware decoding & encoding of audio - yes Encoding. I expect FUTURE Walkman SE phones to have LOUDER speakers (louder by 100% minimum), and possibly dual microphones. I want to be able to record a live musical session at the Jazz festival! I want to record a lecture in University/College and it come out CLEAR & in stereo. I'd WANT to have 3 speakers in the top tier Walkman phone. Why? I want Stereo and a dedicated BASS speaker for when MegaBASS is activated. Oh yeah baby bring on the portable BOOM BOX!!! They're on the right track with the w760i with stereo speakers.

Are these ideas crazy? Do you think they'll sell?

Lastly I'm hoping aGPS is included in ALL mid-high tier phones by SE (walkman / cybershot) along with Tracker pre-installed on the Walkmans (available for download for Cybershot), and WayFinder/GoogleMaps for Cybershot phones with GeoTagging of your photos - showing location & altitude to help tell the story behind your photos & video. Oh yeah all Cybershot phones to be ONLY mid-high end models with Liquid Optical Zoom, while Walkman phones get AF in their 3.2MP or higher offerings. I think that all these ideas will give the market a REASON to accept the segmentation that SE is doing to all the phones.

Looking good m8.

I'm not a fan of DiVX (XViD is better) and the Bass thing =P
Also the lack of 3.5mm jack would not be a great problem if the plug to the fast port was smaller.

But your other ideas are good and logical and kinda what we should expect from in future phones. Idk if people remember the Sony MD players, many had 1 Line In and 2 Line Out, small plugs to the port and other useful stuff. Why not look at that bit too?

It's not that isn't going forward, it's just that is going forward in snail speed

Looks is only half the game. She's gotta be good in the hands, built solid, and able to well, hehe PERFORM like a pro! Sorry could resist the analogy.

Forgive me, but what is Shiho? I'm always forgetting code names and what hardware they're supposed to represent.

MD players had the port connector thing SOLID! 3.5mm jack plus the digital connector for the remote. Sound was VERY good and the connector if I recall was MUCH smaller than today in length. Thanks for you thoughts, much appreciated.

When will we see the use of SSD in flagship phones by SE? There are 16/32/64GB SSD's available at 1.8" form factor that would seem like a good fit for cellphones. Will we see an SE phone that has a 32/64GB 1.8" SSD this year? I ask on account of the current iPhone having 16GB any new phones should be at the very least 2x the capacity, because any sane person would assume that apple will be trucking a 32gb version of the iphone out sometime in the next few months so they can release it about a year after the first iteration. However SSD inclusion should not mean card reader exclusion.

SO GREAT to hear something about Shiho, thats exciting thanks Beta, and PK who stays in the shadows ... lets hope that it reclaims the standard of excellence for cameras in phones for SE.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't solid state drives way to expensive to use them in cell phones?

Nowadays a cell phone with a ssd would cost about 1k I think and thats pretty high even for a flagship device.

Could anyone (PK/M-one/Beta-tester/Mizz) tell me whether another Xperia device will be announced this year (hopefully UIQ)?

i think itd be well north of $1000 ...

but id like a 32GB regardless its about $400 for one drive, but if you order 50,000 that price comes down considerably. i say they should at least look into it, i mean that coupled with a card reader would be pristine right about now, and no one else on the market could claim that kind of storage on a phone.

i know why id want it, but what does everyone else think?

im excited again, hopefully this paris and shiho are reasonable as far as what they offer over the competition. inclusive of the aesthetics.

i HOPE that the camera is not like the C702/C902 where you have to slide it out to use it, thats a deal breaker.
