be treated with equality & respect, as do innocent civilians. Economic issues cannot justify legal or moral issues; in the eyes of the law they are separate things. And if you're a policeman it's a given that you accept whatever the laws may be.

One of 2 emails that I received from the Smartphone Show exhibitors yesterday:

Intrinsyc Software would be delighted to welcome you to the Symbian Smartphone Show on 17/18 October in ExCeL London.

Come and meet us on Stand 14 where we will be demonstrating some of our application specific experience in areas ranging from Navigation and Location Based Services to porting Windows Mobile applications to the Symbian environment.

Additionally our partner, Road Angel Group, will be demonstrating their GPS based Speed Camera Locator application running on a Nokia N70. Visit our stand to learn about an introductory offer for this great application.

Sounds interesting re porting Windows Mobile applications to Symbian...

Also, about that speed camera locator application? Hmm, could do with such an app; although that 'introductory offer' bit has already got my warning lights going...

I'll be taking loadsa pics at the show on Tuesday pm, maybe attend Wednesday as well, depending how good the exhibits etc are. Last year I got through most exhibits in a few hours, so we'll see.

I'll be uploading the pics on either Tuesday or Wednesday, some exclusively on our SA thread.

Hopefully there's stacks of freebies again...

Found this cellphone on the net earlier tonight and thought of Kryptik for some reason...

Wonder what they'd call it... a Glockia?

@ Francois,
The show is this Tuesday and Wednesday only, from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
It's at the Excel Arena in the Docklands part of east London...the London City Airport is just the other side of the dock.

Taking into account what you said, if Jim is somehow able to make it, he needs to get off at the Custom House station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR); the stairs from there take you right to the entrance of the show.
There is no cost if one is just visting the exhibits, but if attending the seminars etc., there will be some charges. I registered a few months ago and received my free pass in the post; I'm not sure what happens regarding Jim now, as there isn't time to get a pass through the post before the show starts on Tuesday.
The best would be for him to contact the event organisers...here's the link:

@Siosal: Congrats on the new phone...I like the flah themes but the Voda sw makes it look cheap. Is there no way you can remove those hideous menu icons by changing the theme as with the N70?

Nice phone, Siosal, congrats!

Had the opportunity to play around with a cousin's W810i over the weekend, and compared the pic taken with her phone to a similar one taken with a 5mp digital camera. Not only is the phone's pic damn close in clarity, it also made me realize that it's highly unlikely that your average Nokia is going to catch up with your average SE...

@ jmash, i posted about the nokia aeon a week or two ago with a link to an article on www.theregister.co.uk. Pretty interesting. Just wonder how long such a battery will last if the appearance of the phone is dependent on that. We will get there. Tech expands at such a fast rate. And im sure the more preferable mobile manufacturers will come up with matching tech. I just wonder if we will get there. Technology seems to bypass our ideas and swing in a totally new direction at the fart of an ant:)

@ brix, what is this you speak of? Who is offering this? Will see what i can find out when i have a minute or two sometime.
