It would be common sense for Sony to use Xperia 1 or Xperia PRO to showcase their newest stuff but unfortunately they don't work like that. They can't get new image sensors for a discount pricing. Remember while back where Sony demoed ToF AR mobile camera? They didn't even use Xperia as a mockup, they used an iPhone. Now imagine one of Sony game studios demoing their game and showing some mockup console instead of PS5, someone would get fired in an instant. Or even better imagine Sony demoing automotive driving stuff and interior UX by using Tesla car instead of their own S-vision car. Someone would get fired right away. At least movie business always tries to put in Xperias whenever they have a chance.
From my perspective there is zero chance new Xperia comes with matrix module camera. |

I remember when imx586 was new, price was $25 per unit. It would not kill costumers if they charged $30 more to offer it for 10 series.
Is there a way to know if a new phone has new components? I mean, how can I know if camera, storage, ram, gps, antennas were not taken out of device traded-in ?

** about the latest update for the monitor feature. I have seen some photographer comment they would like an option to transfer photos to the phone. So they could take advantage of the high quality screen to edit the files.

It's also weird to not have an option to record on the phone for at least Xperia PRO since it had HDMI input. |

Offtopic but I just bought the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Not yet delivered but i have high hope for the huge IMX989 and Leica. About Sony, Pro-I is the last phone I bought for myself as the whole 2022 lineup is not attractive enough for me. Hoping 2023's Xperia would be much better and dont have much drama like 1IV now (in Japan "someone" is looking to sue anyone speaking bad against the 1IV about the bugs or heat, I think myself is pretty high on the hitlist )

Still we do not know if pdx-221/222 are just variants of 1 iv or different devices. I hope there is no " We want to announce the product XYZ is being developed, it will be available anytime in Spring".
I so wish there was a tablet. Even if based on 10 series.

I hope it has proper Pro Audio app, instead of that crap announced with 1iv. Let people tune the settings, not AI perform enhancements.
When the singer is talking about the phone, frame seems to be gold. Like M5/Z5.
