@Oli
WQVGA display on A2 phone will cause some software/games incompatibilty. QVGA is better. But VGA may be the best for next year
from my observations, sometimes it's better off not knowing.

@Muhammad-Oli

very nice job

some points
1- in the front : the round border is too big !! this will make the phone some how thick !
2- the sides : the camera button goes outside the case by too much, I think it will be better to be at 3/4 the height of it's black base
3- in the front : the 'c' and applications buttons are down too much for easy finger movement, give it a scale with your phone and try for your self , in the mean while, I cans see any edges for volume keys
4- in the back : you can move the LED to outside the camera cover or to make a hole in the cover exactly where the LED is located, why ? to be able to use the LED as a torch without moving the camera cover
5- in the back : I think the Sony Ericsson logo and text is not in the exact center vertically, you can nudge it down a little I don't know if this correct or just shading illusion

Its all about the scaling my friend ... scaling! VGA would suffice .. WQVGA is expensive in small screens and font will be PINT sized ... we'd need binoculars to read sh*t on the screen.

@Oli, nice work but it looks too slim. Everything else looks GRAND! Nice work on the Euro feel to it; nicely done!

That Concept is awesome. If Shiho looks like that and the specs are great then it is all mine.

The concept has no numpad right which I would love, more so on a P or W series. Great design.

from review of G700 (on mobile review).......The thing is, they would be better off waiting a little more for the company’s new flagship (I suppose that would be Paris aka P5) that will come in a superior casing (with metal accents), with better camera and sound and richer sales package (desktop cradle, memory card).....so we have some info on the sales package

by the way when is Paris's official debut/presentation!?in May or should we see it earlier?!

g700 is a mid-range smartphone. it is targeted to a completely different audience than paris.

as far as paris's announcement and release, the past 20 or so pages of this thread have been clear that announcement is speculated to occur between now and the end of may, more particularly early may to coincide with P1's announcement last year. It is also speculated to release in september if the announcement is indeed in may.

This thread may be long, but it's just making it worse by asking the same questions over and over again. Please use the search function.

EDIT: It's not bad if you use google and use it well.

Ha ha. That made me laugh!

I have put links to all the relevant spy shots in the first post and any relevant information / rumour is noted. I hope that helps.

Thanks everyone for the feedback on my concept. I may make some changes tonight and post it back up in the photoshops thread. In regards to the scaling of the phone, I based it entirely on the dimensions of the SO905iCS, so if mines too thin, then the SO905iCS is too thin!

Oh and Xajel: I think the logo placement is correct, I did measure it, but I'll check again when I make improvements.

Cheers guys.

Ok I've posted an improved version of my concept. You can see it on the previous page.

I did most of your suggested improvements, but left a few. My reasoning:

- WQVGA: I figure that if they're updating the A2 platform for Shiho, they can make it compatible with WQVGA. Games and apps can be optimised by the phone to display normally, while the rest of the screen shows other useful info such as messages or emails.

- Thinness/Thickness: Once again, it is based on the SO905iCS. So the measurements are about the same. I have changed the borders so it now appears a bit less thin. All optical illusion though.

Cheers. I'll stop hijacking the thread now!

*sigh*....

This thread has been kind of dead the past 24 hours.... except for Mo-Oli's concept (nice btw, just not for me).

Wish there were some exciting new leaks with Paris or something.. *nudges m-one...*
