@aydahm

Its does not seem like a misstake. Someone got the answer from SE support it was lowered for stability reason (apperently lot of people have had problems with the phone because of the high bit rate).

True or fales ? Well that's up to you to judge.

Most likely false, Im not going to upgrade the firmware for a while until the next one comes out, the video function to have lower bitrate may be an attempt to save memory, but with expandable memory that makes no sense.

And the K750i was advertised for its amazing video quality. Unfortunately its not the case anymore. It might be an attempt to add pros to the W800. But I doubt that.

Not at all. Has nothing to do with that. People may have experienced crashes, hangs etc. with the higher bit rate. If that's the case I believe this is a temporary solution until a proper fix is made, which probably takes longer time to finish.

Just my guessing.

For its camera yes. For its video quality ? Where did you see that ?

Damn i hope so.

If SE dont fix the video quality back to normal it'll be like a splinter in my mind regarding the K750i, knowing it can be more than what it actually is. I'll probably end up selling the phone - SE have annoyed me that much by lowering video quality !

For me, the photo quality went VERY wrong too :\ I'm so confused and if SE doesn't give out a new F/W fix for it, I'll sell the fone.

Hi

I phoned the UK SE service center yesterday about a bluetooth problem and also mentioned the video problem with the firmware (even on R1L002). They told me they were not aware of any problems with it, and that the imminent firmware release was the R1L002 and there were no other planned releases in the near future. They said they would look into it and took my details as well as this forum thread to investigate. So looks like we'll just have to wait and see.

@ stephannl - I'll believe it when i see it. I tend not to get my hopes up too high until something actually happens or we have an official statement from SE.

@ AntonyScerri - Dont believe everything the SE service centres tell you. They're only there to fix and service phones, they dont actually develop the firmware.

@ Yazan24 - i still get the odd crash every now and then, but very rarely. When the phone does crash, it usually reboots itself anyway after a few seconds wait.

The phone is very stable right now IMO, it just needs the better video quality reinstating !

i've had a couple crashes relating to the camera portion with R1A. Sometimes after taking a picture (i.e. just pushing the shutter button) the camera element of the phone would quit to the standby screen, without saving the picture. Its happened multiple times, but it hasn't happened so far on this new firmware.

I've never had a problem with videos though...

I also think the phone is pretty stable now, the issues I know about now besides the video-quality are some bluetooth probems.. people that use BT headset daily seems to have some problems.

And I found something today.. I got the MXE-60 blitz yesterday and took a few pics last night and today. All the pics are around 150-250 kb in size. Looks like all pictures that are taken with blitz are taken in standard mode, not fine. I have checked that its still on fine after I put the blitz on, I thought maybe it changed profile or something but it doesnt.
I have to look more into this but I am pretty sure there is a problem when using blitz.

Think this proves the difference in in pic quality between R1A and R1J is neglectable.

i have just bought a k750i.

I find it very nice, except some point.

First sometimes I can not localise my recoded files (video, pictures) or newly created folders in the system folder of windows when i'm connected thrue USB cable.

Last but not the least, the size or resolution of the video: QQVGA: 176 x 144. Find it to small for a mobile of that quality, when you know that some samsung have 352 x 288 with a lower sensor resolution(1meg pix)

Does someone know if such a caracteristic could be improved in a future firmware release? I will try to ask the support, at what mailbox/url should I send my question? [addsig]
