I tried all the possible ways but the orange people confirmed they have blocked those free sites to generate more revenue from their homepage contents.. They even replied to my complaint via email with some unblocked sites such as wap.my-symbian.com but even this site was blocked when i tried.. The message which i get is 'No server access' .. Now i am thinking of switching to bpl.. unlimited surfing only for 99.. And now the new tariff of orange gprs will force me to take the step.. But there is a good news.. Orange is ready with 3G, waiting for green signal from TRAI which is expected in September

Ratan Tata stirred up the Hornets Nest, by suggesting a Rs 15 Billion fee to enter 3G. Ofcourse he is ready to pay (the customers & not the company will ultimately end up paying).
Now, the Govt has gone in a loop to find the way.

Most big Ops are ready to rock before '06. Bharti Tele did conduct trials, I think in Q1.

Yup, sadly Orange IS barring tagtag and even Pravada ( I think).. besides others

@Sail. Hutch can open Esato, the only useful site. It is yet to get into both the major sites of India, since last 8 months. They are tag and mcom.

BPL's been taken over by Hutch. So, won't be long before they show up 'No Server Access' or whatever.

@pradhika I agree. If we didn't have Esato, who'd we complain to when these you-know-whats show what they're truly like? However, I don't pay Rs.99 for WAP only to receive only Esato. I'd rather change operators.

@Neha- Wish I had that option. Main number is Post Pay and been in circulation for long. I have since used proxy sites. They mostly work, like anonymouse (replace Google address with whatever) -> http://anonymouse.ws/cgi-bin/anon-www_de.cgi/http://wap.google.com

@sailaab Thanks but after downloading one wav file from a tagtag site, the connection became slow, so I exit from the browser but when I tried to connect again, I got 'Access Denied' again! This is so sickening! I hope Hutch rots in hell!

Hey all..1) I wonder why I didnt see this thread before. 2) I been on bpl for the last 5 yrs & they use to block some sites aswell but found out through customer friendly exe. that U ve to change the proxy server port, not the ip...in my case I used the same ip add:10.0.0.10 & changed the server port frm: 9201 to 9401 & since had no problm in accessing any site & 3) there are these squeezer site...dont know all but iyhy.com worked very well for me...just go to the above url & enter the url of the block site in the box & go...I could even manage gmail through it. Finally 'bout hutch taking over bpl...I ve been hearing 'bout it since a long time but havnt had any gprs problem ever & download speed I get is quite good (8/9 kbps) so I dont thing I need to worry 'bout changing my operator now...time will tell.
Hey edting my post just to add that I m getting all the above only for Rs.49 a month. What more could I ask for...ya free mms maybe but for now m happy with free national sms...that right. I ve free national sms till the end of this year & m waiting to see what they are going to offer next year...when U are with an operator which is last & is tempting people with such offers to get new customers, U cant loose out anything.

@has333 the IP we use is 10.001.001.100 and server port figures only in the streaming settings and not in the main internet profiles. which phone do you use?

@neha"1000" ('cause U made me 333 instead of 33)
I use the SE P900 & we have an option to set the proxy server address & port.
BPL had set the proxy server port as 9201 when they sent me the setting for my phone. Changing it from 9201 to 9401 has given me access to all the sites even the secure ones.
