I've restored from a backup with no problems. Used the PC Suite 1.3.1, which gives backup version 1.4.3

Just to confirm, the "Royal Air Force" has the new software available for free. We had expected a lot of traffic, but except for Brimme and a few other people no "R2A" rush at all. So at the end we were able to flash most of the stock p800's as well. This is not how it should be. People from the Amsterdam area, visit us

How come people are saying SE are upgrading the firmware today?
I have just been into an official service point and watched the guy dial in to the emma 2 server are get the latest version, which was R1G.
He then called a friend in technical support who also said the latest version was R1G.

Maybe the guy performed and "offline" update, it doesn't show the new SW then. Ask him to do an "online" flash, the EMMA2 computer should sniffle for the latest version then, otherwise it just takes the version that's already on the harddrive. Not quite sure about this actually, we always do online flash. Any ideas Cytech?

I actually should have had mine upgraded today too,..but there seems to be some problems,...we tried with two P800's,..and got error-messages on both !
We did the upgrade offline,..had just downloaded it from EMMAII site, so this should not be an issue.
And batteries were fully charged on both phones.
A friend of mine got his upgraded today at another service point, and his upgrade went great.
So I dont really know what the problem is,..will just have to try another day/next week.
regards

No costst, as long as there are no people in front of you, you can wait on your upgrade with a cup of coffee. Doesn't matter where you bought the phone.
@jh67, I think we flashed about 6 p800's today, none of them had errors.
One more thing, a lot of people are having troubles with the R2*** language files, audio player in flip closed mode etc etc. Why don't you just keep english for your p800?. The English language is hardcoded in the p800 firmware and when you don't need the language files, it saves a lot of trouble, some memory and perhaps gives even better performance. I actually hate it when I have to setup Dutch P800's
"Configuratiescherm" is ugly compared to "Controlpanel"
Just my 2 cents

Nothing wrong with English, but I live in Sweden and I have a Swedish phone, is it too much to ask that it could handle Swedish? |

No it's certainly not Froddan, but it saves you some hassle. SE proves that the languages are not top priority, looking at the language file problems. The new released suite is also only in (american) English. |

Yea, I know it would save me from getting gray headed, but still.
And I really hate to mix languages on it, all apps are in Swedish, and now I'd have to have the OS in English? No, it goes back to yet another upgrade. |

Ive also had my orange p800 done today at my local SE service center. Took about an hour and restored my backup and everything works fine. One thing i noticed though was when in full mode, there was lag in the video player, but besides that everything is great |

Got my phone back from Barnet Intec today.
They said they could not upgrade the phone due to a problem.
They wanted to send it to SE, for 1-2 weeks.
I took it back.
Could not upgrade phone firmware?
The phone version has changed from R1B to R1D.
Phoned SE Customer Support.
They said there should be no reason why it should not take it.
SE phoned Intec. Intec would not let SE speak to technican.
I'm taking it to R's in Tottenham this afternoon. |
