Well I got a font to load. I renamed one of the ttf files as the original ccc file.
However it looks awful as there is no anti-aliasing.
Arghh why is this so hard?
Edit..this hack won't work for those Asian firmware. See here:

I had that very same problem and nothing I could do would make the phone load the fonts ... then I deleted the fonts directory, re-downloaded the Zip from Rapidshare and placed the files inside a new fonts directory and voila'!!!
My only explanation was that the font files became corrupted somehow.
Tried your solution exactly - and now no problems at all many thanks LAU

Why do you need to get the original fonts of the phone first? I can just put the fonts on M2 and they work, when I take them off and restart the phone I have the original font back... never used a file browser... Is it to get the names of the original files? Was I just lucky mine have the same names as stated here earlier?
one strange thing that really surprised me, the change of the fonts in the phone also changes the font of my mbw-150 bluetooth watch..!!?? But unfortunatly the motorola font doesn't look as good on that as on my p1... but still readable.. I wil start looking for a font that looks good on both and combine it with the original.. I'll post the result. |

Hi guys.
Is it just me or the link for the hybrid Z8 fonts doesn't work?
After d/ling, the contents are not in the .rar file.
It says 383kb in rapidshare (or sth like that) but it's 0kb after I d/l it.
Anybody have the same problem?
Thx! |

working on it!
You guys have to help me make a decision: Since I can't find the font I want and the sony ericsson font doensn't excist I decided to build it. I have made 3 kinds of lowercase fonts but one is small uppercase and I don't like for a real font. So I have to choose between these two:
Shall I continue with the top or the bottom one? I like the lower one more but I think the top one fits the SE font more.. (since the Y and N in the org. logo is all rounded too)
What do you guys think?

The font dosent work I am using Latin and Chinese edition and in the resource fonts folder there is only sanserif chinese.ccc, no san serif.ttf. I loaded both san serif english and chinese on d resource fonts, and it still dosen't work!

Thanks! Glad you agree because I'm halfway finished with the whole bold font for the top ones... Only have to make the special characters. It's a lot of work coping and pasting it into the editor and the bad news is I'll have to do it 3 more times (4 fonts total) Maybe I can sell them to se .. the first result of my font (without specials etc looks pretty good..! Although I think it's a litlle bit too space consuming in width,I have made it reall small then it's quit ok but like I said reall small But it looks good on the phone! Specially when the phone starts before your operator logo appears it says Sony Ericsson in the right font..

Any chance someone can post the hybrid fonts somewhere else? Rapidshare is terrible. been trying for days. I really like the look of those fonts!
