Been looking for a debranding service here in SA. The one I knew about moved. But thanks again for the input. We don't have much choice on networks. We have 4 networks of which Vodacom (50% owned by vodafone) is the largest, MTN is second (and my choice for next network operator, but I would have to wait till FEBRUARY 2007! to transfer), Cell C, who are the youngest and most unreliable, and Virgin mobile, who only got set up here a month or two ago and are very unsturdy.
So I have very little choice.

Prom1 , i know about that DRM protection , i have a phone wich has that DRM . BUT as always there is something to do ; like you download DRM Packager from internet , and you convert any MP3 with that program into a DRM Mp3 , so it works great , no prob's . A bonus is if you have Sony Sound Forge , a great program for audio editing , so you can make mp3's of any size you want.
So yeah , that DRM is not ruining anything (thx god) . Take care , ciao

So did everyone upgrade from the W810?! I cannot believe the battery life on this W810 EVEN with listening to MP3's so long during the day.
I finally got a phone that lives up to my old enchanted T39m of yesteryear.

I upgraded from a Moto to the 810 and still can't believe the battery
Didn't need to de-brand - O2 uk are good like that, they don't brand or
sim lock their handsets
And as for the 810 itself - By far and away THE best phone I've ever had !!! |

Sounds good. Unfortunately I will be forced to have a branded handset, but rather that than another, lesser phone. |

@Siosal, did you upgrade the to the W810 yet?
Man I love SE phones. I now crave for the K790's better night photos, joystick and A2DP.
Man why did they NOT give the W810i A2DP?!
Makes me wonder that the upgrade of the W810i would be?!
Im beginning to think SE is running out of distinct number combinations in the W lineup (W300 - W710 - W810 - W830 - W850 - W950 - ??). Only small increases like the W820/30/40/60/70/80 could be done. Then again, SE can always do W1 W2 W3 etc.

And me somewhat cross-eyed just waking up.
All photos taken with auto setting with my wife. The Snaggletooth photo of my puppy is a macro.

@Prom1 , whatever you do , don't leave the W810 , buy K790 as a backup , w810 is the BEST designed phone all over the sony's , so my advice keep this sexy w810 too , and buy also a K790 . I use 2 phones like i said earlier : a nokia 6101 for talking, alarm and routine stuff and w810 when i'm going out with friends,or i'm dressing good LOL and i want to make a good impression. What can i say , i observerd a lot of ppl looking to my phone ( but it's not my goal lol ) . I saw only a few ppl with this phone here in Mtl . soo , keep the phone |

Yeah man I'm keeping the W810i > My wife might take it but I'll get another one. When a Good phone like this comes around you gotta get duplicates.! I hated EVERY phone when the T39 was done back in 2001.
I got some really nice photos of Toronto to post tonight from my old K750.

someone told me about a trick to boost up the volume .. i will research this .. Btw , you can do another trick , look for an editing program such as SOUND FORGE 8 , and maximize the volume of the track and then save as a new song , it should give you some volume boost . i know it's not so comfortable but maybe it's worthin' givin' a try . aloha

i owned a w810 before. i loved it by then but got frustrated over it after it went blank while transferring files to it from my pc. this happened within a month's use.
after i got it repaired, i gave it to my girlfirend. have been using my w800 ever since.
off late, i'm getting a strong feel for w810. i did a proper comparison and found out so many advances SE made in w810 over the w800. it came as a surprise as i was always thinking that the difference weren't that much.
i'm falling fro this phone all over again! i'll get one this weekend me thinks!
A downside, i think the w810 photos are a little bit over exposed.
@Prom 1:
I owned a t39m too! what a great phone! it's my first bluetooth phone. i still have that phone! its in a horrible state right now but it's still in good working condition! sometimes, i browse the internet with it. one thing me thinks is all SE phones have internet capability unlike other manufacturers. I'll try posting some photos of my old t39m hehe! |

hey can i join your clan? newbie here. got some questions about my phone...i have myfriends all configured out but i cant seem to be online on ym, and i cant see my friends either. even if they are online. what gives? also, my phone is kind of processing things up so sloooww, especially when i read my inbox. cant say if it is because i have full message inbox (dont want to delete the nice quotes i receive from friends, though i will if i have to), or is it because i have too much games and appz installed.
can anyone help? thanks... |
