Video calling comes out of your free minutes as far as i am aware and everyone gets 1mb a month free, the rest of the deal seems ok.

Ok, after looking through this thread i have realised you can get a lot out of o2 if you try!
Im looking to go on to contract when i get my k800i, i am currently on o2 pay as you go. will i be able to barter much with o2?
Or perhaps not seeing as how i am new to contract, although i am on pay as you go right now.

My perfect contract would be something like (12 month contract):

300 anytime minutes
300 texts
5mb for the internet
free video calling
free k800i

How much do you think i could get this for a month?
£20 - £25 would be great

I used the fact that i've been with them for the past 2 years as my bargaining tool. You could always say that you have been offered the phone for free with someone like Orange...but I don't think they'd budge considering you'd be new to a contract with them...then again, it doesn't hurt to try!

I poped into Phones4U today and was told they would be in by this weekend, probably on a limited number but it gives you a chance to oogle the handset if they have a dummy one to put on display.
What gives with the silly tiny direction pads like the W810? I love playing all the games on my phone and a tiny pad like that would make it pointless, I love the fact you get the little joystick and never had a problem with it it's another reason for the K800I.
I've been with Orange for the last 8 or 9 years yet it never seemed to gain me any special deals, they alway's said I never spent enough over my contract fee, the last 4 times I have told them to forget there stupid costly upgrade offers and gone for new contracts for the best deals, will make a point of that this time though and get a good deal.

I just spoke to CPW O2 'customer loyalty', who flatly refused to talk about the K800, saying that they didn't have it, it wasn't on their system, and effectively accusing me of lying about other people's deals.

Do I have the worst luck in the world with these people or what?

I really don't know how to proceed now. If I buy a PAYG phone from Freemans, that is effectively sim-free isn't it? Or would it be somehow locked to PAYG and wouldn't work with my O2 contract sim? I only ask because in the dim and distant past, I know some O2 PAYG phones (Philips C12) would only work with the sim it came with.

@57thkafka

The guy youu spoke to was probably sick of taking enquiries about the K800i.. I would have rang up again if I was you and spoke to a different person.

Is it true CPW will have it tomorrow?

@goldenface

He was a truly miserable jobsworth. This wasn't the first time I had rung up though, so frankly, I have given up on them completely. Oh, and the first time, they just cut me off! I am getting a PAC and going elsewhere. If they don't want my money, that's fine with me.

dont speak to CPW loyalty, speak to O2 direct, CPW just gets commission on contracts through them no matter what network, O2 will actually fight to keep your custom. Before you ring be armed with different tarrifs and the figures of how you'd be better off with using another network (orange has the 2nd best deal on the k800 so try that.... infact I'll practically right a script on how to get what you want) remember to mention your an existing O2 customer and you expect some kind of loyalty bonus otherwise what are you with them for, use sentances like "why are your best deals given to those new customers instead of keeping the existing ones happy"

Should anyone accuse you of lying about tarrifs ask to speak to their supervisor, you wont tolerate such accusations, what ever happened to customer satisfaction?

Be polite though.

I'm a call centre's nightmare lol

(when operator answers take not of their name!)

Hi,

I’m wondering if you could help me, I’m an existing O2 customer of (4) years and thinking about upgrading my phone to the Sony Ericsson K800, as seen on your website. I’m happy with the (online 200) tariff I’m currently on although I’ve seen a great deal with Orange, through the E2Save website where I can get K800 free on their “Canary 18 month contract” which gives you 200 free Xnet mins and 75 texts for the first 6 months and 500 thereafter, all for £30,00 per month with the first 8 months free.

This would be a much better deal for me than upgrading, however I see that for me to take out a new contract on your Online 250 I would receive the phone free of charge as well at half price line rental for 5 months with double talk and text for the first 3, could you match that offer as an upgrade?

*operator will then try and barter with you, stick to your guns*

If they refuse.

Well how come your able to offer that deal to new customers rather than someone who has been with you for (4) years? Surely I’m entitled to some kind of loyalty bonus, after all if your not going to show the same loyalty that I have to you then I will just cancel my contract and take out a new contract with orange, why should I go to the trouble of terminating my existing contract, taking out a new one and transfer my number to a new O2 contract when you can’t give me the benefits of being a new customer?

Infact it doesn’t matter, I don’t wish to deal with O2 if they cant offer such basic customer satisfaction, can you put me through to the cancellations department please?”

( ) = fill in your own details here...

When they put you through hang up, you were only bluffing…. Call back, try a different operator and make sure you don’t get the same one as before.

Lol I can imagine O2 getting the same script read out over and over.
