Well it would depend on which "analyst you believe. If you read iLounge, you get a different story. Actually they had two similar and dissimilar stories running at the same time. I can see Apple moving into the MVNO space. Nothing much to do. Buy some SIM chips, brand them, sell them. Get the bandwidth as well and away you go.
As for the Motorola phone, Apple supported it but I do not seem them behind it 100%. iTunes is their cash cow. Downloads over the air was not a viable biz model for them. They want people in the online store. OTA music downloads was a way for the operators to make money and they naturally went with Motorola, as they did not have a deal. Nokia phones had and still have that crappy Real Player, while SE has he deal with Sony and its resources. Motorola was left out in the cold. So please show me the upside for Apple here. If Apple thought there was money to be made, they would have pushed harder, but you can see that Apple phone has all but died out.

Well like I said we will have to wait and see what old Jobsy has in his mind I mean I bet you never thought an Apple would be using an intel chip and run Windows did you? Would you buy an Apple phone if it was made out of interest?
As for my view, I have a PSP so an Ipod is a mute point for me. I see it as just a gadget, sure it's cool and that but I have never had a need for one so don't see the point in spending the money. For me the walkman phone would make more sense as it is a great phone that has good multimedia functions if I want to use them. You don't have to use the walkman player, although I'm getting a K800I more for it's cam and build quality and screen rather then the stolen walkman player.
I could happily fill an Ipod with a few tracks of loss less compression music so that's a fair few meg per track and then a few films as well if I did have one.
These day's though, as everything is so small then why not buy all of the gadgets. It's not like there going to fill your pockets especially if you had the new to be released Ipod nano with 12GB memory. But I enjoy playing games and watching films more so a mobile phone is my choice over my PSP for a gadget I have with me all the time.
Mobiles should really be all about communication at it's best and they are. They do email, video calling, PDA functions, sync with networks and PC's, send SMS in all it's forms and Video messages, internet etc. So it's no wonder phones are converging into doing other non communication things that are useful as they can cover all the above mentioned things already. At least there useful things like camera's and music players that you would use.
The only thing comms wise left for non smart phones to conqour in full is perhaps email. |

You brought up a good point. The PSP. It seems that this was forgotten with only a Walkman Phone and iPod being considered. I had a PSP as well, but sold it after only a few days. It seems that it just did no have enough capacity for me. As I stated earlier, I travel from country to country and dragging a box of CD's with me is not a good proposition so I have my entire music collection spread across my iPod, and external back up drive and my Mac. I also have a Walkman Phone (w810i) that I use only for the phone function or as a document storage device. i.e. work docs and files that I sometimes need to email. I also have a Nokia 9300i that I use as an everyday work phone, but your inclusion of the PSP is something that should also be considered as well.

What kind of sound quality does the PSP have through a good set of ear pieces? |

I had very good sound from the PSP. It was nice to watch a movie and be able to hear little things in the back ground. I did not play much music with it though. Mainly movies and games. I would assume that a good pair of headphones can make most media players sound well or expose their flaws.
