It seems that G700 and Beibei are direct competitiors to each other, D-pad vs. scroll wheel. Surely one will lose out or both will lower each others' sales? Maybe Beibei has some sort of party piece that nobody knows yet but I'm still a bit confused. It can't be a Walkman since there is no Walkman key therefore, it seems like a G phone. As much as I like the G series, I think Beibei is overkill and just to fill up the UIQ roadmap. |

I wonder if someone has mentioned or speculated about Kumiko here?
On a sidenote we should make an analysis of the correlation between codenames (Female tennisplayers) and the phones.
I watched Alona play against Maria Shaparova (spelling?) the other day and thought, ah there is Alona. Since Maria as a codename has been scrambled, how do SE choose codenames?
Lets speculate on that aspect |

Yes- we don't see a walkman key ON THE FRONT of BeiBei, but where is w890's walkman key for example?? ON THE SIDE.
Not saying it's a walkman- but the walkman key isn't evidence enough for it not to be.
RE: prudent- I don't know if it has anything to do with looks. But if it does- Shiho better be a beauty.

Beibei has too many smartphone type shortcut keys as well. Too much going on there to be a cool and stylish Walkman phone.
Where did Paris come from? Lets hope they don't use Serena, she'll lay the smackdown on any bloke and has the part of She-Hulk whenever they make that movie. |

Beibei: uiq 3.3, new hardware platform, it will surely be more expensive...not really the same thing of g700, g900
Even so i agree its a bit redundant, i have to figure its positioning better

I also suppose Beibei to be a G-Series phone The small touch screen is a clear indicator for the compact touch series called G-Series. Definitely Beibei is not the proper replacement for Mooi (W960i).
Beibei will be launched at the end of this year
