Wrote a email to SE to express my views on the things we think that are upcoming:
Hey,
I've got a K850i, and I was wondering. I've seen some videos of the new c902, and the new menu's and face detection look really cool. As the c902 and k850 run on the same platform, I was wondering if us K850i owners would see an firmware update that changes our menus to look like this. At the moment my K850 is unreliable, it keeps on restarting and I had to send it to a service center as when I turned it on it only lit up the blue ring and keypad. Having a firmware update that fixes the reliability and gives us these new menus would be sweet.
Could reply answering my questions please,
Harry

somehow i feel a lot of the problems with the k850i might be related with the touch keys...as w910i has similar software on it but is much more stable as it doesnt have touch keys!!...i feel having touch keys means the processor has to be constantly on the run trying to see if there is any touch occurring or not!!

I dont think it'll do anything unless it gets a pulse from the touchkey.

the k850i uses capacitive touch from what i have heard! from what i read about capacitive touch

"When the sensor's 'normal' capacitance field (its reference state) is altered by another capacitance field, i.e., someone's finger, electronic circuits located at each corner of the panel measure the resultant 'distortion' in the sine wave characteristics of the reference field and send the information about the event to the controller for mathematical processing."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchscreen

this means it would be constantly monitoring it and processing it to see if its pressed or not!!

Then they should have made the k850 without 5mp cam etcetc and call it e.g. X790, instead of releasing it as a flagship/topoftheline (cybershot) phone.

lol.

Any camera phone from SE w/o a xenon flash will never be better than the K790 or K850i. For camera features, these two are on the top. C902 is useless, what makes it better than a K850i? Nothing really. Once the K850i is straightened out I am sure it'll be a good phone eventually.

Then why they hell did you get it??? This makes no sense what so ever - going out looking at a phone and saying "I hate this phone, but i like bitching more so I'll get it and bitch about it" I've gone though my share of issues with the phone but I could never say I hate it. I can say that I'm disappointed by it overall, yet I still find it to be fun to use majority of the time. Now if I could only take advantage of the speed improvements of the last two firmwares without the fear of getting another BROD, I'd be almost set.

although it has a lot of problems I still like it. I'm waiting for that BROD thing but I believe I will not come toit.

I just did a master reset settings and a master reset all just for fun and the phone speed improved - I don't know. maybe its just me, but from time to time this phone amazes me.

I won't replace it with c902 or something.
