I must be the biggest sucker for punishment in the world... I just got my phone back from the repair center (after BROD), and what's the first thing I do? I flash it.
However, to my surprise, the repair center had already loaded R1EA037. Still, I went ahead with the Sony Ericsson Update Service.
I'm not sure if this is a new feature, but the software allowed me to "continue anyway" after telling me that the latest software was loaded on there already. Does this mean that if the phone BRODs again, I can now just use the SE Update Service to flash it?
No, unforyunately not mate. If or should i say WHEN you get your next BROD you CAN NOT use SE Update service to flash it. Would be a whole lot simpler if you could eh?!
Im on my 3rd phone after 2 BRODS so if i get another one i get an upgraded phone for free. Any ideas what i should get? Doesnt have to be a SE

Well, WHEN I get my next BROD, I'll use that Kulankedi thing to fix it this time... I ain't waiting over a month while my phones goes to the repair center again.
The sad part of this is all is that the ONLY reason I got the K850 was because my past Sony Ericsson phones had sold me completely, and I was absolutely certain that the K850 would not let me down. How wrong I was...
Unless they sort this out with a new firmware, I'm done with SE for good.

Hey,
Im not sure if that actually helps, but BROD is completely random it could happen to anyone with any firmware, even with your trick i suppose |

Only the last 2 firmwares not any of the ones before those. |

Although I haven't had the BROD, I find that the phone randomly reboots when you fiddle around with themes and or wallpapers on the memory card. It seems like there's something wrong with how the phone is accessing external memory, since it also reverts to default themes/wallpapers if the startup media is on the memory card. |

I'm, waiting for number 3 K850 now, should be in the post from O2 as we speak...
Fingers crossed that I don't get another BROD, althugh not holding out much hope as O2 doesn't suppoer the new 037, it's still on 031!!! (not sure why though)
If the new one dies then I think I'll be looking at tge G900 or C902 (when it's out) as a replacement?!

R1EC001 is fantastically stable, if only it wasn't full of the Orange branding.
I haven't had a restart in ages and it's not too slow. Needs to be faster when multitasking, but the best firmware I've had so far |
