For the record, Sam, I was not replying to your post, thus why I didn't quote any of it or mention your name. I'm sorry you feel as though you're important enough for everyone to reply directly to you.

As "proper" English, the language is not dead unlike other languages such as Latin and can be modified and altered to create stylistic effect. Again, I am sorry if you are not fluent enough in the language to be able to pick out and understand these subtleties.

As for one of your points, I do agree with it: Of course SE will release something better than Paris a few months down the road--though what "better" means is yet unknown; and as another point, I am not interested in that future model now--I am interested in Paris.

Yeah there will always be a better model a few months later. Its called evolution, its how P800 tech made it up to P1 tech. If you wanna keep waiting, go for it, but the rest of us somewhere along the line need to upgrade and 'Paris' seems like a pretty decent prospect. If you want the best phone, wait 'til 2024, I hear SE is expecting a STORM that year!

Thanks for that info on the TV Out.

The VGA screen is something I'm not sure Paris has but would be great if if did. Shiho is also slated to feature better optics than Paris.

Why do people try so hard to defend Paris like its going to solve global warming or bring peace to the Middle East?

I have a very close relative working for Nokia and even though I don’t like Nokia phones myself, they are well ahead of SE. I have seen their prototypes and I promise you that their touchscreen phones will eat up the market. They are only lacking against the Walkman range but that may change.

As my relative says, they can keep reproducing the same N95 style phone and continue to clean up the market. Maybe some people should remember that SE are not the market leaders, so give the other companies some credit.

Well it's not a Nokia forum,
and these assumptions regarding "cleaning the market"... Man, of course they will clean it! And prepare ground for SE attack!
Just kiddin', you know, what you write sounds like "no, I'M THE BEST, and it's true!!!!". C'mon, everybody can say such a sh.t.

Some are giving it too much hype...its true, and i said it...there way are more on SE sleeve in terms UIQ phones. However, it will be a great phonem, the first with UIQ 3.3 AND a new hardware platform - and that means something

I just want to remind everybody that since the announcement of the Nokia 95-1 in September 2006, Nokia has been pretty static in the top end. In the last 2 years or so, they have not changed it much. They released a 8GB version with slightly larger screen, then the US equivalents, then this Fall they will have the N96 which in reality isn't too different from the N95 8GB. They also released a similar candybar version of the N95, the N82.

SE with their UIQ onslaught this year could possibly take Nokia head to head. This Paris phone will keep up with the N95 while the P5i could take on the N96 and beyond like the Nokia Tube. Plus all the other UIQ phones planned could take on the mid tier S60 devices.

I hear what everyone is saying and I am going to ignore some of what is being said. I like technology and phones etc. as much as you people do but I was hoping people would be realistic and honest in that Paris isn't going to top the charts and put every company out of business. Bearing in mind that the N95 is old, what makes Paris that much better? Touchscreen yes, qwerty maybe but what else? It probobly will be better but is it £xxx amount of pounds better or not. Like I said before, price is important so is it justified? Just be honest.

are you talking about n95 classic (not the 8gb version)??? well...don´t go further...even the P1 have a clear advantage in terms of hw over it, besides the keyboard and touch screen: huge loads of RAM, that alows proper multitasking...so, no need for Paris there...

If you are talking about the recent N95 8gb (this one equals the P1 and W960 in terms of RAM)...well, the touch screen and keyboard are obvious advantages for the normal p series user or any user that wants make serious text input on the device. It will also have a higher symbian version. But the most important thing has not been revealed: the new processor.

Everyone needs to cool their jets and just wait for the announcement. Whenever it may be. We're here to discuss credible info and rumors and leaked info not waste page after page of bickering about what phone is better or any other speculation. Se will do whatever is in their business plan. They will release phones at their own pace and include features that they deem fit. Just like any other company out there. Fact is if you don't like what they're doing or are uninterested then by all means pass this thread by. Cause i frankly would rather read about se phones and specs than read whines and disappointments.

Considering that Nokia easily has the financial resources to mass produce several S60 top end models I'm inclined to believe that SE's manufacturing plants or hardware design engineering team cannot release more than 5 new UIQ phones (and I mean 5 different models not segmented models; ie G700, G900)! Nokia has been HEAVILY focused on Touch S60 platform so thats the reason for the lack of top end phone models. Shit they announce a new phone in ANY level or segment every 4(-/+) months.

I'm hoping you're right and I'M wrong in this ... but remember that SE expected to take HUGE loss this year due to focusing on emerging markets and new platform development & research. This is just not the best environment to release several UIQ phone models within a calendar year. Again I hope I'm wrong in this.

And where has SE official stated anything close to a UIQ Onslaught? I haven't come across anything remote to this, only Nokia stating a more US marketed focus as they're lacking there. I'd like more UIQ phones, but I don't think we'll see too many with good solid specs or variations. And catering to the Europe only GSM bands is a stupid thing. The G-series is a wonderful platform, but with Euro only GSM bands they've just killed half of potential sales to the North/South American potential market.

N95 + touchscreen + qwerty = my dream phone.

If paris can provide it (as it already did in its form factor) then I won't ask for anything more. How lets wait for the specs...

X1 - P5 x (N95 / iphone)²= a dying thread...
I though it was the rumor section but in fact it's the "mathematic" one. hahaha
