I think it is something utopian sensor 1" !
In my opinion hardly a cell phone will be launched with a larger sensor integrated in the 808 "True Pureview" !
A BSI Sensor 2/3", OIS, Zeiss Lens (f/2.0), ND Filter, Xenon Flash and Postprocessing Pureview (Phase 1) would be the ideal successor for the big 808 "True Pureview" !!!

The magic was in the idea and the realization of it.. the actual thing is just a very good sensor, solid jpeg processing, and very.. very well engineered optics from CZ, or in other words.. recipe for good imaging.
The 1020 is good, its just not as good as the 808.
A 1" sensor would be very nice, but the phone will be a fatty..
It won't be that fat, but it will be the best cameraphone on the market. And I'd gladly accept a bit of a width increase for the a much better camera, it'll still be smaller than carrying around a phone AND a P&S. |

TBH I didn't like the 925 camera at all. The size might be perfect for a Lumia, but still left me wanting more from the Camera plus no HDMI out..

First Comparison For PureviewClub: Nokia 808 PureView Vs Lumia 1020 Pureview – Several Shots In a Small Harbour!

P.S: Well, what you’ve shown in these images was just what I had seen in other comparative, ie, 808 offers the best photographic results 1020 (including full resolution) !
In all images 808 delivers images with greater detail, colors more realistic and less noise… And this is particularly evident in images 3, 5 and 6 !

At least Marc used 95% jpeg processing on the 808... he is the first one to do this from the online blogs |

Nice How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking ? I think I got mine for $20 on ebay..
I actually ordered a red one as well, but I am still waiting for it in the mail.. will post pics once I get it. It was about 20 as well.
I think Nokia should've exploited that opportunity to sell different colored back covers for the 808.. kind of like the 620 |

Third Comparison: Nokia 808 PureView Vs. Lumia 1020 Pureview – a Mixing Console !
http://pureviewclub.com/2013/15996
P.S: Easy win the 808 !
Despite the 1020 focus more on the subject in focus, it super saturates the colors and shows much noise !
But the addition of 808 colors more realistic, shows no noise and moreover it is more detailed and explicit in figure 2 ! |

Fourth Comparison: Nokia 808 PureView Vs. Lumia 1020 Pureview – Hilversum City Hall !
http://pureviewclub.com/2013/16029
P.S: Yeah, after this comparison, to be honest, I have to be proud to own 808 !
The best cameraphone in the world !
Let aside the differences in sharpness and color tone.
I realize that, in the center of picture, 808 provides slightly more detail than the 1020 (In Full Resolution), but at the corner, the superiority of the 808 is brutal... The 1020′s detail is awful, noise, blurry and lost detail !
And one more thing, the shadow parts in 1020′s picture are no way as detail as 808′s picture, so much noise, only the light parts probably are the same!
This is apply for all the pictures 1020 takes, lens problem !
Look it for yourself

There are some 808 lenses out there that exhibit the same softness around the edges, but .. I've seen very few of them.
It was obvious that the 808 has superior IQ from the first official shots..
Comp from pocket now

got it from a local seller, £9.99 (about US$15) brand new.
Looking forward to check the Red cover on your 808.
