CONGRATS MY DUDE!!!

which one did you get, black or silver?

Um, are you asking me? hehehe well yeaaa I got silver

I've heard about the crack issue on the stylus caseon the silver one, I think it'll only happen if you don't pull out the stylus straight, and you should put it back in gently so far no crack cos i rarely use the stylus anyway hehehh

since every phone I've owned I've managed to avoid the hardware problems that a small minority have complained about, I feel confident my x1 (when I get one) will not develop a crack here.

Problems I have NOT had with SE phones: K750 - joystick problems, camera switch problems, squeeky back, K800 - joystick problems, dust under screen, keys falling off, W910 - wobbly slider, fast port problems, scratched camera lense, HPM-70 - three months life span (mine has been going strong for over 2 years), All phones - scratched screens.

SO I'm afraid I have to be sceptical when people go on about poor quality of SE devices. It just doesn't add up for me....

Beleive it or not. I got the freaking phone working with e-mail, Alarm clock and much more.
Talk to M$ yesterday and they ask me if I could send them a feedback report what I think about the phone and how to get the phone better.

I will keep my phone now so I can continue working with it.

How do you change the message tone to your own custom tones? I don't see my ringtone that I transferred to Windows/Rings. I can only change the ringtone, not the message tone :S

Just put your messagetones in the big windowsfile. Then you will find your custom tones.

isn't the microphone the little hole under the ok key?

@nitro fan

where are all these people with faulty units? i started a build quality issues thread but only 5 or so other people have posted! i admit that i have a bit of a dud but i'm confident my replacement will be ok.

this forum is nothin like after the p990 was released!

I am not that interested in what is right with units, that is what we pay for! I am interested in what is wrong IMHO ANY fault is one too many and needs highlighting sorry if that offends
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot.

my point is that the defect rate for the x1 is well within any reasonable limits. i am quite frankly stunned by just how few faulty units there seem to be. And those unlucky few have been able to replace their units with the minimum of fuss.

SE/HTC have done really well - and thats coming from one of the few users who has the misfortune owning a unit with a few minor aesthetic defects.

How do you hide the SIM contacts?

And finally, since the media player doesn't include an equalizer, what's the best headphones for this? I want in-ear headphones that provides MAXIMUM BASS heheheh. I got the Creative EP-630 though, the bass wasn't good enough for me without the equalizer :S

hehe thanks in advance, whoever replies, you're the best!

Download and use the program XperiaTweaks (www.cliffords.nu) program, it has many features including one to display/hide SIM contacts.

You are on the right track, deciding to purchase better earphones. But don't forget you should consider it along with the following:

1. Recording format & bit-rate (e.g. mp3 not less than 192 kBits/s)
2. Music player (with EQ or Bass boost - since it's important to you)
3. Earphones

Earphones with good bass do exists and the list is vast. It really depends on how much you want to spend. Any within the Shure SE range are a good start, for medium to high end earphones. If you're on a budget, you can't really go wrong with sennheiser.

Chris

AWESOME! its all goood now

xperiatweaks + contactfix sorted out the contact list issue, thank you the_mont =)

fixed the messagetones, thanks to Osmano =))

and surprisingly, i was trying out my bluetooth headset HBH-DS205 with my xperia though i had to switch the headphones with the ones that came with the xperia, it sounded GOOD (maybe better than using the bundled headphones with the 3.5mm jack)..

I changed the settings on the Audio tab on the Bluetooth settings to Excellent Audio Quality and Sample Rate higher to 48Hz or was it KHz.. (What's the sample rate actually for?).. and at first, the sound was baad (really low volume), then i tried increasing the volume using the volume rocker on the side of the phone, it doesn't really increase much, but then,, by increasing volume on the bluetooth headset itself, it works just fine, i even had to lower the volume on the media player =)))

Oh, but i get freezes on the Facebook Panel most of the time though, anyone gettin this too? I did install it on the device itself.. hmmm

Yeah. We hear from the dozen of people who complain, but we don't hear from the thousands who have no problem with thirs phones.
