Has anyone with the generic firmware in the UK noticed that there is no symbol for HSDPA coverage?? When on the Voda firmware I had a 3G symbol and a 3g+ symbol when I was in HSDPA areas and in Menu->Settings->Connectivity->Mobile networks->GSM/3G networks it had an option for GSM, 3G and HSDPA, but now only has GSM and 3G. Does the generic firmware disable the HSDPA or has it bundled it together under the general umbrella of 3G??
I have a dig bick
You read that wrong

I was on voda, and debranded to the UK customised FW - now i get an 'H' symbol for HSDPA or 3G when in 3G areas. Are you sure you're just not getting the coverage?

Sorry if this has been covered, But I can't make sense of all these codes.

I bought an unlocked k850i from PhoneSource USA.

I am still on the ...29 firmware. When I try to update it says no update. Are others having the same result? Should I be getting an update?

Thanks in advance.

@Ricky D
Since on the new firmware, I've only seen "H" once. I didn't see it all that often on 029, but more than with 037! [addsig]

I had an O2 branded K850i and never saw the 'H' or '3G+' on 029 or 037. Also, my K850i started restarting alot after I updated.

Orange uk would show 3g but never H. debranded mine and updated to 037
but still getting the restarts, though very few compared to the original
orange 029 firmware.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Hey! I got it from BelCompany too.

Just like you, I don't have the problems everybody else seems to be having. The only thing that bothers me, is that the media center is incredibly slow (all the time). Just like the phone is when you start listening to some music, it becomes allmost impossible to write a sms or search for a contact.

Yeah, it's true. While listen music, everything goes very slow. First I use 2GB MicroSD, it was endurable but after I upgrade 8GB MicroSDHC, it becomes like 8bit computer like 20 years old.

And there is still some problems such as;

- Volume control sometimes disapper. Turn phone off and on again, it solves.
- WMV file playing fail very very sometimes, also turn off and on again, it solves.
- Playing MP4 movie file, voice and screen sync is not matched very seriously, it depens how big MP4 file is.
- Dust inside of Lens cover... it is really annoying...
- Of course it's like fingerprint collection tape from police lab.

But no other problems like contact's birthday can't connect with calendar nor flash does not sync when it works at pitch black environment... etc.

I think BelCompany's 029 firmware is much fixed and better than others. Holla!

The update is available, mine is updating now.

@Pakzal,

Please let me know about 037 upgrade, is it via SEUS or FOTA?
Is there any remarkable improvements?
Something like speed up...??

my vodafone branded one doesnt find any updates through SEUS yet and there is no option within the phone for remote update :S
i wonder if we'll get the 037 firmware or go straight to the new one when its out.

Updated my Orange 029 to 037 via SEUS. WOW what a complete let down. I had and still have the 'Operation Failed' problems I was having before. And still having the media browser speed problems, also had a couple of restarts now, didn't have them before!

I know the 037 was for mostly camera specific problems, but come on, they could have done more.

For everyone fussing over the 037 update, I'd be waiting much, much more to the 'proper' update around the 10 Dec, hoping that is worth the wait!!!

Updating the firmware via SEUS cannot fix Operation Failed bug at all. The only way is reflashing the phone firmware via SE Service Centre or www.davinciteam.com .

Um I've an Orange K850i on version 29 and I can't upgrade mine over air or via SEUS. Have I missed a trick to getting it done? Is there a particular version of SEUS needed? Mine updated itself to 2.7.11.7.

Used my computer to update it, so SEUS.
The mediaplayer is a tad faster, but it's still slow.
I don't notice any other improvements.
