Well ,

After careful consideration and being fed up with waiting i have sold my P910i and bought an o2 xda2s. What can i say , apart from it is the best phone i have ever used. I have put Tomtom navigator on it and it runs just like the tomtom go. Absolutely flawless. Goodbye Symbian , Welcome Microsoft.

I have been posting to TomTom that it takes too long to bring it.

1st of all owners and potential P910 buyers are waiting to long
2nd of all UIQ 3.0 which everybody is gonna switch to and they have to make a new programme for it...

I wonder what they will do with it. They confirmed it will come (shortly?) after the release of the TomTom Go 700.

Which by all accounts won't be at least until June time in the UK...

Hello everyone.. I checked the different GPS system that you talked about on this forum, ie TomTom, Route66, Wayfinder, and still havent found one that will work in Canada & US.

I have a P910i and looking for any GPS system that I can use with my phone.
Any suggestions PLEASE?

Do you guys have any idea if Route66 or Wayfinder are going to have maps of US?

Thanks you!

Why is the MS a requirement - reduce the price a bit and supply it on CD with installation via sis or drag-n-drop files onto an existing MS using a card reader.
The early adopters (e.g. this forum) would be comfortable doing that, release an MS-inclusive package later for a higher price.

Personally I'd probably want to sacrifice some mp3 space on my 1gb MS rather than swap cards all the time, so would copy the content of the given MS over to my existing MS. I hope that will work!

Nils7, I await your review and comparison of all 3 UIQ offerings - will your 'presentation' be on the web?
Please keep us updated on that.

Cheers

I got confirmed that also Route66 has problems putting the program on the Memory Cards!

Both have the problem.... both are finished.... but we wait for the branding of the cards....

Supply on a cd is not an option because it wouldn't be useable when you drive away navigating from the shopping centre where you bought it (policy of TomTom, I know: a bit strange).

I will try to make an english presentation also, but Dutch is the priority. 14th of may is the presentation and I only have TomTom confirmed to show something, wayfinder and Route66 are still in clouds (mist?).

Is it possible to get a draft of the presentation. I can certainly help with the Dutch translation.

@ nils7

Just a thought.
With tom tom on UIQ, is it possible for directions to be given via a connected bt headset? that would be a really usefull feature.

Humm never tested it. It's just what the phone supports... my 6630 plays even mp3 via a BT headset but my P910 doesn't.

It would be great if the navigator app could issue directions directly into the drivers ear via a bt headset. then you could have the stereo on without missing any directions. Now that would be a great feature.

The sound is loud enough for navigation. Unless you try to boost up the volume to loose your license plate.

@ Bigfeat I will ask if I'm allowed to spread the presentation.... Route66 is still a problem but for TomTom I have 30 screenshots (also wayfinder).

A new option is that you can add an adress to a contact and start navigating by clicking on that contact in your adressbook.

@nils7. How much do you guess Tom Tom UIQ + BT GPS Receiver will cost when they hit the shelves? Will the launch be the beginning of June?
