@O2: that is one of the most sensible descriptions of Islam i have ever heard. i'm just sorry your opinion is not shared by more people. the world would be a much better place if people focussed on their similarities rather than their differences.
Whomsoever you see in distress, recognize in him a fellow man

Gelfen's special place where nobody talks to him anymore

@gelfen
thanks... im just the voice of my religion. I appreciate from wat u hv said, its just that im just concern about the Image of what Islam has been facing... The Qu'ran taught us, not to hate or criticise other religion. We Islam have to repect other religion, as they were once Islam during that time, and respecting them is respecting our previous prophets.

if the quran teaches muslims not to criticise other religions, why were so many sikhs and hindus killed a long long long time ago when they wouldnt convert to islam?

Its the same with all religions....every faith has some sort of dark past as with Christianity,millions upon millions of people were slaughtered because they didnt accept or were not christians during the crusades..so lets not delve into past religious conflicts..All faiths teach peace and tolerance but its a shame that very few people practice what they preach that is why i am a Agnostic when it comes to religion...Everyone thinks their god is the true god just because they were born into that faith!...No one has any concrete invidence to show to suggest that their is some kind of god. @o2
thats not really the universal muslim view on other religions though is it.
islam believes that all other religions are distortions of there own, all prophets before mohammnd were given the same text dictated (that been the key word) by god but man and previous prophets they beleive distored the message and others had to come. in islam they believe that mohammd delivered the true word of god so no more can come after and that he correctly wrote down the dictation of god hence the shahhada "and mohammad is the messenger of god"
i myself am not religious as i believe i side on the side of science , though i have nothing against others who are.
whatever it takes to get you through the day

My thinking is somewhat similar to Masseur's initial comment, I am too a Roman Catholic, and though I don't study Theology, I find the various arguments and theories interesting, but some of the theories really don't seem very logical or at all possible. Since I am studying Physics, I have taken a great interest in the big bang theory, as well as the membrane theory, (anyone that wants to know what that is, prepare for a VERY LONG explanation).

Essentially to underline my basic beliefs:

Do I believe in God. YES
Do I believe God created everything. NO
Do I believe in Jesus. YES
Do I believe that jesus was resurrected. YES

The best comment made so far!.....More humans have died in the name of god than any natural or any other kind of disaster...indeed Religion is Evil. [addsig]
