LOL, yeah. I wonder how they would've reacted if Diddy told them he got a replacement T630. Maybe they would've said that you could keep it and that you could've gotten your simcard back. Hmmm, now we'll never know huh. But would you rather have the T610 or the T630? (Cause many people still would choose the T610 over the T630.) As we say in The Netherlands "eerlijkheid duurt het langst". |

You people do realize you are discussing something which only took place in this guys head, right? This story never happened, there was no cell store, there was to exchange of phones at all.
San Fransisco imports a lot from Japan? Who cares, these phones doesnt come from Sony's Japan division, they are marketed from Europe. And let me tell you, there is a shortage of phones from all major brands all over Europe right now, so I highly doubt you will find a new model, yet to be released to market mind you, in "a cell phone shop in San Fransisco".
This is all just a major cry for attention, to what end I have no idea.
As interesting as it might be to discuss ethics, it's all theory, nothing happened, and you can quote me on that.

believe me or not, I don't care. The story is true. They were sold out of P900, and had the T630. (don't ask why or how, maybe they just got the shipment in of T630, and nobody knew about it yet) That is why. ALSO, I do have 1 picture of me holding the T630, i'd post it, but I cant find a place to upload it to. Furthermore, I think the T616 is still better. The phone felt lighter, but the buttons were kinda awkward feeling, and the screen does look a little better, (couldn't really tell cuz I didn't remove the plastic cover) But the flash in the back looks really ugly. Needless to say, I am not crying out for attention. If I really was doing that, then I sure as hell got a shitload of unwanted attention. I REALLY GOT FLAMED! Anyways, i'm stuck with my t616, and if anything, I'd rather go for a P900, rather than a t630.

@ masseur and others:
i have to disagree in this case. the shop offered to replace the lost t616 with the same kind of phone. not "a phone" or "the nearest equivalent we have in stock".
at no stage was a t630 offered as trade. the manager trusted diddy to be honest about his phone, and diddy chose to mislead him. diddy himself admitted as much because he started out looking for a P900.
@ diddy:
glad to see you've calmed down a bit. i just want to be clear that while the theft itself was flame-worthy, it's not what really got me going beyond the "dude, that's stealing" level of response. it was that you asked for praise when you returned it, and tried to blame the shop, rather than just taking responsibility. i think i made it clear earlier that i have issues with that sort of thing.
and diddy, we don't hate you.
man, it's gonna take forever to get these splinters out

Flash? On the T630? Ohhhh, you mean the mirror you look into when taking a self portrait?
Well, honest mistake, I mean, anyone who has held a phone with a mirror would mistake it for a flash easily......

I absolutely agree with masseur.I think that diddy should keep the T630 and leave T616 in the shop.

If I was in the same situation, I too would of kept the phone. Not the fact that they lost my phone, but the fact that my SIM card is also lost. It might not of been a big of a deal, probably could of just called the cell phone company and activate a new SIM, but thats a problem I wouldn't need to go through. Especially since it was a T630, a brand new phone. I would of kept it.
I was in somewhat a similiar situation. My T616 that I originally bought from my cell phone company broke due to a mishap. I went into the store, expecting to pay $250.00+ for a brand new phone, but got away with only having to pay $100.00. The sales person didn't even bother to look up my account, just gave me a brand new phone w/ the SIM card included( usually they keep the new SIM card since I already have one). Oh well... |
