ok this new nokia may have the edge on over the T610 specs, but hasnt any one noticed it looks like s**t. So what the T610 might not have a perfect camera. If I wanted to take pictures i'd go out and buy a bloody camera, a camera fone is just for fun, not taking proffesional photos. Plus the T610 is and will in the future look nicer, where I live everyone has a nokia brick, you pull out your T610 and its something different and looks expensive, Nokias just look cheap and plasticy

Do the Nokia phones have a call timer, so you can see how long you've been chatting?

I mean like the phones, and not something that pops-up when the call has ended.

The features look very good except for the small screen! The design is ok with me, now let's just hope they've improved the interface and the connectivity, because that's what I hate most about today's Nokia's. (For example, you can't even copy pictures to another phone.)

If they improve on those fields, and SE don't present any big surprises, I will probably buy one.

can't believe everyone is going on about which phone is the best...
6230 is not out, Z600 and T610 are out... And they are already a lot cheaper then this 6230 hence they don't compete... Maybe SE will release a phone that is in the same price range as the 6230 and then that is a competitor to it.

just my 2 cents (Euro cents)

6650 was the first Series 40 phone that had BT and it was introduced about a year ago (fall 2002). Since then, 7600, 6810, 6820 and 6230 have it too. Nokia has also released a wireless BT adapter for Series 40 phones but it only supports audio.

I don't think Series 40 is unstable at all. Since the release of the 7210 (which was very buggy in the beginning) it has become better by every model (and there are loads). You have grid menu (first introduced in 7250i and 6220), picture caller ID (7250), BT (6650), 65K colours (7600), Irda, Java, speakerphone, usually 3 bands, MMC (3300, 6230), large internal memory (7250/i, 6220, 6230, 6800, 6810, 6820) etc. If you have seen any of the FW upgrade bugfix lists, Series 40 is looking better than ever.

I myself don't care who manufactures the phone, as long as it has the features I need. So far Nokia has met my requirements pretty good (having a speakerphone, Java and FM Radio for example is very important to me). Nokia isn't the only manufacturer that cripples its phones.

You people should really stop comparing T610 with 6230 as its pretty pointless. The T610 has its ground and its right NOW! Not like 4 months later.

Yep, comparing 6230 to T630 should be pretty reasonable, since announcement of these phones were about the same time and they will also hit the market about the same time.

To be honest I find the 6230 very appealing. Even though I think Nokia and technology are like fire and water it's good to see them (finally) show some kind of innovation.

But I will probably not buy it. I remember how last year I was searching for a phone to be my T68i’s successor. Back than SE had no real successor (and I found the P800 to be to expensive). All the other manufactures had at least 4k displays, polyphonics etc. while SE still had a crapy 256 colour display. Still I couldn't find a true successor for my T68i even though I considered the SL55 (it was just announced) and the 7250. Then out of the blue SE released the T610 which blew the competition out of the water.

I think something similar will happen again. By the time Nokia has released the 6230 SE will have announce a better phone and release it +/- 2 months later. Giving us a better and cheaper phone.
