Don't know in which age people are living. There was a time when a 5.3" note was gaint for most. But now a 6.5" screen is so normal... Similarly what was a compact 5-7 years ago is not valid anymore... When the regular model increases in size and display so does the compact. A 68mm wide phone is very decent in width and handling in current times. Any less and it will enter a very niche segment which isn't a good idea for a company already in a bad situation.
And seriously if your pocket can't handle a 16cm tall phone then you need to buy new jeans as all jeans and trousers even 3-4 year old have deep enough pockets to house a 16cm tall mobile... That's how everyone in the world is carrying their mobile phones...
Accept the reality... You are not going to get a 3" mini phone like compared in the photo...
I have no answer for someone that says that 3-4 years old have pockets for 16cm tablet, you are too smart for me.

I guess your best option is the S10E or Pixel 3, using the old Xperia Compact phones without the software updates I suppose. I'm in the same boat, I just need a small phone for basic functionality but you can't find one with the top specs in which case I'll have to go for the Xperia 5 or the Pixel 4. |

Even samsung can barely compete in China, why do sony insist on that market? And with such good price. It can't be more sales, what's their angle? |

Because iPhone sales gone low so Sony can take advantage if possible? |

I meant 3-4 years old trousers or jeans... You might be thinking I said kids...
Anyways, good luck finding phone that suits you best....

I got myself an Xperia 5 for £420 off ebay! It should be delivered tomorrow, I'll share my thoughts when I get it in my hands. Selling my XZ2 Compact for £95 to recycle website so that's an excellent deal overall. No Sony wireless earbuds but a lot easier to digest than £700 so I'm excited. I was on ebay looking at the price of the OnePlus 7 and 7T initially and although they are similar sort of price, the size was the deal breaker for me. |

My first impressions are mixed, I've come from the XZ2 Compact to this so it's a change. Device is slim, narrow but tall. It's easy to handle, it reminds me of the Xperia Z4, very pretty and premium in the hand. Phone is lightning fast, battery doesn't seem to drain at all even with a lot of use.
Now, the screen is nice but the XZ2 Compact has much nicer colours. Some apps look really dull now, the super vivid mode is gone which is a shame. Even when you play with white balance, it feels less versatile than the LCD panel. The software is pretty buggy as well, I like the Android 9 version of the XZ2 more so now I'm just waiting for the Android 10 update. |

No super vivid mode is pathetic, you get some really crap looking apps and particularly some washed out icons. Bullshit that I can't adjust the contrast. No clear audio or bass boost so headphones sound garbage now, Dolby Atmos sounds shit. I've dropped this slippery bastard a few times already, getting a case which I absolutely hate to have. These problems are mainly software related and really annoying, desperate to get Android 10 or start looking for third party software to sort this dog mess out. Screw you Sony for making stupid decisions. |

Any idea if they will offer this phone with the headphones in the US? I would jump on this phone if they did the way I did with the X1. |
