UIQ are rapidly expanding their headcount in Budapest to support their platform.
Motorola have been instrumental in driving new features into 3.3 and beyond.
Motorola have up to a dozen more UIQ products on the roadmap.
Their problem to date has been jumping UIQ/Symbian versions with every new phone which was, IMHO, foolish.
Anyway they will stop doing that with the release of the next tranche of handsets after Z10 - ie Texel, Skarven and others.

On top of that, you can expect SEMC to announce/ship several more handsets on UIQ this year on top of the modest efforts shown at WMC.

I would guess that 2008 will see announcement/shipment of between 7-10 handsets.

*nods* And let's see how their "sell UIQ devices like glorified feature phones" plan will do, when they can't be arsed to fix the existing bugs on the previous phones..
The p1 Whiki - report your bugs, and add feature requests here.

yes, and the state of the G series when released will be some indication of how seriously they are taking it.

nothing special there, it just shows the current situation...symbian in the US is pretty much meaningless...and also, the curren user base of UIQ is too low to attract devs massively...and thatīs what is about to change with G900, g700, and the new UIQ 3.3 phones...

Ok so maybe now someone believe that UIQ is actually dying? (Fast!)

Symbian Foundation founded:

UIQ to lay of 200 out of 350 persons:

(Swedish article)

And the fact that BeiBei and Paris have been canceled...
