My phone won't load the fonts. I created the directory Resource/fonts/
in my memory card and then copied the 4 ttf files into this directory.
I then rebooted but nothing
Is this hack only for European firmware?
Thanks! |

Well... I tried it - seemed to work fine, I connected my phone to the docking station and when I removed it it was frozen. I had to take the battery out to reboot - when I got back in my applications on the mem stick wouldn't work - greyed out icons - Swiss manager, PDF+ Standard, Olive Tree Bible Reader - and strangely enough Opera - which should be installed with the OS!!! ???? - I could still access videos & stuff that were stored on the Mem Stick.
I rebooted again and it was the same. I turned it off and put the mem stick in a card reader, deleted the fonts directory on the mem stick, re-inserted the mem stick and AFAIK everything is back to normal...
Any ideas???

I had that very same problem and nothing I could do would make the phone load the fonts ... then I deleted the fonts directory, re-downloaded the Zip from Rapidshare and placed the files inside a new fonts directory and voila'!!!
My only explanation was that the font files became corrupted somehow.

Hi, I don't have the original SE fonts anymore. Anyone have them?
Else can you posted the hybrid ones, the links are not working anymore.
Thanks |

How did you loose the original fonts? You just have to delete the Z8 fonts on the memory card, reboot and you'll get back the original ones |

Yeah, just delete the z8 fonts and it'll all comeback to normal.

My phone locks up whenever I get a new message with the Z8 fonts. Have tried re-downloading them but still have the problem.
Deleted the fonts and everything works fine. |

I think it's because you put your phone in "file mode" and when it froze, it remained in "file mode" and that's why everything was greyed out. You should've connected the phone again just to put it in "phone mode" and everything should be fine.

Excellent!!! This post should be in the top 5. The fonts change your experience with the mobile.
Followed the instructions (excellent post) installed the z8 font from rapidshare (congratz to the designer) rebooted my mobile and everything works great with a nice view.
Everyday i love more my mobile... keep em coming.

I just realized I needed to use another File Manager. I installed Swiss Manager
and looked for the original fonts on the ROM to copy over to the M2 card. Where are they? There are no fonts listed in the Resource folder.
Thanks!
Never mind...found them...However, I can't create a Resource folder in the d: drive using Swiss Manager nor can I copy over the Resource folder from z: to d:

I created the folders using my laptop but the phone still won't see the fonts.
Do they have to be in a ccc version since the only original font in my ROM drive is this:
Sans-Serif_ChinZi.v225.ccc
There are no ttf files
