though I have no expanation for lack of update for some wg1's I would have been surprised if the choice of region in SEUS would have affected the firmware itself as we would have heard of people changing their languages by this method
I think that chioce is merely for language within SEUS itself
I do wonder if there is a pattern of those who KK'd that cannot update? maybe SE "fixed" something to identify those?

I changed my CDA with KK so I do not think that it has something to do with that.
Anyway so far the new fw seems faster, more ram, no more flickering screen when calling and I am pretty happy with it.

I am guessing they are taking back this update.
As they did with the PC Suite. Somebody must have messed up the things BIG time.
Now this is sounds really scary or put it simple f**ed up.
How can one now trust in these updates? Or we just gonna take the plunge and hope for the best ?!

@J@CKY,
unlock: no, I'm pretty sure not yet
debrand: yes... Solution to flash and change CDA of P990 at home!

For those that keep saying that the new firnware update is for WG 1 only, that's not true. My WG 2 W950i updated just fine (as I already mentioned). My phone was purchased unbranded/unlocked (i.e. no body "debranded" it) and so maybe that's the difference???
After the update the More -> Status menu on my phone shows:
Phone: R9F011
Bluetooth: R3A01
Organizer: R6A15
CDA: /2 R6A13
