i have noticed something, lets say t300 has 100kb memory left and you download 20kb file, well your memory left will be lower then 80kb, seems like SE guys are bad at math

How much less do you have? If you have 100K and then download a 20K file and you're left with 79K I'd say it's OK. It is a rounding issue not a memory problem. However it if shows 75K or so then it might be another problem that we just haven't revealed yet......
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Ok here is todays observation!!!

I had 205kb memory free, then when i tried to get a game from SE site, little popup window told me nicely, politely,
"incoming item. File size 40kb. Free memory:190kb. Continue?"

So you loose 15kb for connecting to SE site, Is that punishment? Each time you call them they will take off 20 more

I'm guessing that's used by the wap cache files. Try clearing them in the Wap Services.. Advanced

so we can't erase preinstalled stuff, but can we delete the place taken in the active memory by the preinstalled stuffs?
(so we don't loose twice the memory place) :/
I have done the big mistake looking at the images in my images folder after master reset, so they've been loaded in active memory like it was already explained here
(and don't want to do a master reset again :/)

i got the R1D sw and SE has resolved the problem by disable the possibility to erase the Preinstalled Pics,a nd all the preinstalled stuff... When you try to delete them, you've got an error message... Impossible to release some space with the Master Reset trick and all you've tried... So, i hope that the next sw will be better and give the possibility to rease what we don't need...

they haven't resolve any problem, a master reset will release dynamic memory, but not static

Pfffff...... Although this thread started a month ago, it seems that there is still no solution...
I just got my phone, with a rather old firmware (as it seems) R1B008.
So i do not dare a master reset.

This post is just to get some life back into this problem, because there is still solution...

And if there is PLEASE let me know...

Thanks.

I mailed them before Christmas about the problem, their original reply was...

"Regarding your enquiry concerning the T300 handset, I would like to advise you if you where to perform a master reset (code 0000) on your handset then this will delete all of the stored pictures, games and templates on your handset. I hope this helps with your enquiry."

When I informed them that this didn't actually work as intended their reply was...

"Regarding your enquiry concerning your T300 handset, we suggest that you contact our Customer Care Centre on 08705 237 237 and one of our advisors will assist you with your handset problems."

I've mailed them back again to tell them that I don't want to speak to a Customer Care Advisor (since they will not know anything) and asked that they mail me back with a solution from a technical person... as yet they haven't replied!
