It looks like the pics aren't bad at all, but the compression is just way too high. Especially in the first pic.

Can someone post pics of a sheet of paper with regular font words on it. I would like to notice how bad it is without autofocus.

Cam quality is less, because W850i has no autofocus.

I had a K618i - 2 MP . . . back then and the way I see it, it captures SHARPER images compared with that of the K750i - 2 MP. The K618i has NO auto-focus as well . . . .

Those daylight pics are pretty good, looks like it doesn't like low light. The quality seems to be about the same from digi cams about 5 years ago. I personally don't see where the loss of autofocus comes into play; focus dictates how sharp or not a picture is, not the picture noise or colour density. I'm considering the W850 over the W900 because it seems to have better battery life and also the new Walkman application, but I'd like to ask you all, how dodgy are the buttons on the W850? and what about the dual illumination of the keypad, anyway to disable it?

GSM arena stated the navigation on W850 is horrible.
And the loss of auto focus is clear on the first pic.

You have no idea what AF exactly is, do you?

Low light pics were quite good when the MXE flash attachment is connected but I agree that pics are better in daylight.

Battery life is waaaay better than the W900

Buttons one mine were quite good except for the number 5 key. It had to be pressed quite hard for the phone to recognise it had been pressed. I got annoyed at the amount of times that the 5 key didn't register as been pressed.

The illumination dimmer is a good idea (very effective on the W810) but it annoyed the hell outta me on the W850. The screen was always going from bright to dim. Never stayed at a constant level even when stood still.

Have gone back to my K800 now and sold my W850.

I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose

The first pic has a completely blurred background, which wasnt the case with the pics i took with my W800

Conclusion: you don't know what AF is.

The focus of the W850i lens is fixed, therefore it can only take sharp images from about a meter to infinity. The blurred background isn't the result of the absence of AF. It just can't be. It's just a bad picture with way too much compression (the pictures coming out of my W850i are way better btw).

That looks fine imo. I also got the W850i for christmas and I'm superhappy with it so far. Being used to the camera on my old Samsung SGH-Z107, this camera sure is enough for me.
