@siosal
Go ahead and get yourself a cool W810i.

It has EDGE..
D-pad navigation..
Better Screen..
OTA Update Service Option..
More compact..
Dedicated Activity Button..
and it's quad band..

For these reasons, it is a better choice than the w800i. I'm not saying that w800i is not a good phone. But why get a good one when you can get a better one?

With regards to the w800i hiss, if not for the modded drivers provided by some of the great esatonians here, the w800i hiss would still be there. SE wouldn't even bother to fix it themselves.

@Tupac
We know you love your w800i so much. Thanks to the modded drivers No need to say that W810 is a "horrible" phone because that's a big lie. "Horrible" is the word to describe a nokia phone, not an SE phone

Thanks for the support.

Although I think the OTA update service will be disabled by my network provider.

Is it normal if the battery lasts no longer than 5hours when i'm using the walkman & playing java game at the same time? Or could it be possible it happened bcoz i didnt drain & charge the battery for 4hrs at first use as the SE authorized dealer recommended? Is it ok if i charge at night & discharge by morning, say for about 6hrs? Will it damage the charger or even the battery?

Hi peeps had my W810 for 4 months now had no real problems with it as yet (touch wood) ringing volume is abit quieter to what im used to, and the outer case scratches fairly easily altho i do have a SE carry case for it but dont always have the chance to but the phone in to it when im at work and i have gained 10-20 scrathces on it as a result, the blue tinting around the camera lense has worn of in places and is a begger to keep the lense clean. My keypad is ok except for the 5 key which now has 2 little orange holes on it. but it is a brilliant phone i love the camera on it, taken hundreds of pics on it since i have had it. My bf has just had a K800i which is brill for pics so may get one of those next.

whats up, i very sure you are using a FAKE memory stick. Got it from ebay? i had the same experience as you. >< less than 5 hrs = dead battery for me . dam fake memory stick drained 100+ percent more battery usage and caused other effects.

Fake memory stick? Why would u say that? I actually didn't buy my w810i by myself, I asked my cousin to buy it at an authorized dealer in another city coz there isn't any in my city. I'm still using the same memory that came with the phone, a 512mb one. Could it possible they give a fake memory when they give a warranty card? How long should the battery last when the walkman and application run in the same time? I did read that the talking hours should last 8hrs.

hmm, then it can't be a fake memory stick. should last about 8 hrs if your listening to music while using an application. havn't tried it but thats an estimate. yeah talking should be 8 hrs. it depends tho, if you live near your provider or not. it could last over 8 hrs or below that.

Maybe i should consider a back up battery
I experienced run an app and walkman at the same time til it totally drained the battery when i was at a place out of my provider range for a whole day, so the signal was totally off. I was restarting my phone to begin at flight mode but since it turned out i could only use the walkman by then, i changed to the phone mode again regardless no signal. I haven't been flashing or do any modd to my software, if i modd it, will i be able to use another feats in fight mode?

@himura
Check these:
Bluetooth should be turned off.
Brightness should be at least 60 percent only.

I usually go our of the house with a fully charged battery. When i arrive home, i still have about 35 percent in it. Not bad because i'm a heavy user of the walkman. I usually play games with the walkman on when I'm home and i do it while charging.

You should drain your battery at least once a month. Get the Battery Maintenance App at getjar.com

I thought that I read that the batteries used now do not have to be cycled like the older ones did. Like charge overnight, drain, reperat?

yup you don't need to drain it all. its better to charge it whenever you want to. draining it completely i hear is not better.

himura, thats impossible to mod it like that for now, btw far manager doesn't work for w810i
