Because the BROD is more than a bug...it's a VIRUS!
And for all who think that because they didn't get BROD after 48h and they are happy, just let me say that my BROD came 3 weeks after the 031 upgrade and I hade 0 bugs before

lol I wouldn't as far as saying its a Virii; but I understand how its pissing ppl off so much it might as well be - this may provoke SE to realize this and FIX IT!.

Didn't someone post a solution to this about a dozen or so pages back; relating it to Startup & Shutdown pics or themes on the M2/MicroSD card?!?!

Crap, I just got two restarts in 3 hours... I am starting to back up my phone on daily basis in fear of BROD... This sucks... I feel as if I got stiffed by buying this phone. SE has all these phone coming up and it seems as if they just gave up on ours. They put a half-fast crap firmware out in 31 just to get it out, this is bullshi...

I am turning back to 037 once I take back my phone thank to kulankendi or Davinci, and from now on I will wait at least 5 weeks after the release of a new FW before upgrading just to see if any huge deadly bug like the BROD still exist...
I hope BROD will not become a classic ''non-fixed'' bug like the famous ''operation failed'' while trying to open games and apps

I turned back again to 038 Generic Central-Euro via KK and am NOT going to upgrade to 031 hoping that maybe everything will be ok!

same here - we're thinking same way

and I lost all my hope when this brand new flawless firmware (called R1EA031) caused my first BROD... :|

but who knows, who knows - maybe there is still someone there in SE who will find out how to make a good FW...

Am I correct in assuming that the green phones have a green ring?

We've also got blue rings on the black and green version, so the term is BROD all round.

I've had a few restarts, but one time it showed all signs of BROD, i thought, another thing to have to return, such a hassle. so i took the battery out, expecting a dead phone, but it lived! Viva la K850i!

Well I am also a victim of the infamous BROD however my phone has recovered both times......

Does anyone know when the next FW update is due?

Im eager to de-brand my phone if Im honest however I am reluctant as I have never done it before and Im not sure how to go about it or what I might lose/gain on my phone?

I got my green one on T-Mobile from the carphone warehouse, but if you're still in a contract thats not an option, But its deff reccomended.

I like mine, apart from the fact that the paint is coming off the keys!

For those who had a BROD are you using a microSD or M2 card?
