I've tested two 031 firmwares (PLAY PL branded and CENTRAL EUROPE unbranded) and NO RANDOM REBOOTS at all. So I think that those reboots are some kind of hardware issue (i.e. incompatibility of hardware with new software or something?) that happens only on some exact models. That's why SE Centers are exchanging k850is' mainboards... As I can see, only people with random reboots are getting Blue Ring of Death. So - if you are experiencing reboots on 031 you better downgrade to 037... otherwise, it is a possibility that your phone will be dead.
I think SE f***ked up the work not only with fw, but with hw, too... I'm happy that my phone works okay, although I'm still not happy with camera performance. Still love k800i photos heh...

anyone had a restart with a black and silver O2 handset. I would think these have the latest hardware and firmware.

I just flashed my K850i via http://www.kulankendi.com for test only--just to indulge my curiousity. I flashed it with R1EA031 MAIN CHINA CID 52.min and R1EA031 APAC ANZ CID 52.fsm. My CDA is 1201-8437. The flashing process took approx. 13 minutes and it was a success.

Just for a test again, I updated it via SEUS. SEUS gave me Continue Anyway option. SEUS accepted the phone and it loaded the same R1EA031 to my phone. It means Kulan Kendi flash with correct CDA brings NO problems with SEUS. That's good.

Then, I just checked and found out :
- that I have NO HSDPA option! (I didn't do any master reset, though). Hmm, strange.
- PhotoMate works without 'Application Uses Too Much Memory' warning anymore despite all downloaded modules. Fresh installment, maybe? The version of PhotoMate installed on my phone is 1.1.8. I can't remember whether it's the same as before. Can anybody check?
- link of Scoopt in the built-in Netfront browser gives me just a blank page. It is just gone.
- NO reboots, NO Blue Ring Of Death. Excellent.

Therefore, I suggest that people with problems in their K850i flash the phone with the latest firmware installment. Thanks to reliable 3rd party flasher like www.kulankendi.com , www.davinciteam.com or www.totalgsm.org for easy-do-it-at-home-by-yourself solution. It's not free, though, but it worths it, right?

@aremaboy:
My restarts started after flashing with kulankendi. I've since "updated" with SEUS ("continue anyway") and it seems to have stabilized. Only time will tell.

Download XS++ and you can profile your phone.

Too many ppl are posting the "correct CDA" yet not all of us are aware of what is the correct CDA and how to determine it. IF 3rd party flashing houses are providing multiple CDA's they're sure not making it clear what the correct CDA for the specified firmware is. This causing more confusion & more issues not to mention more forum db space needlessly being used.

What is the correct CDA for all the firmwares? Is it on the first page; because many are having different ones.

There is no "correct" CDA. What is meant is the CDA which is able to be updated through SEUS. Those that were able to upgrade through SEUS randomly posted their #s. They are all over this thread. I would start looking around the date that 31 came out as a few people posed their CDAs and their success.

@harry press >,*,<,<,*,<,* Then service info>software info and it is one of the XXXX-XXXX numbers on there. I do not know which. But there is nothing you can do unless you wait or use 3rd party flash.

Also @the person that said its the HW, if it was hw then all firmwares would be affected, the fact that this problem only occurs in 31 can only be attributed to software.

The "correct CDA", in my humble opinion, is the CDA which is on SE database or SEUS or EMMA or whatever it's called. It contains xxxx-xxxx string. x represents a digit or number. For example my CDA is 1201-8437. Indeed, although this x represents a digit, you cannot, for example create the string yourself. There is a pattern that is SE-specific. You can't create 1234-5678 although it is the correct xxxx-xxxx patterns. The general rule is 120x-xxxx.

However, although we have this correct CDA string it is not necessarily updated by SEUS easily. It's up to Sony Ericsson itself. That's why when people ask why there is no update available via SEUS, we just can say that such a CDA hasn't got any update yet. Why? We don't know. It's Sony Ericsson's policy.

Check here for the correct CDA for K850i and other phones. There are so many strings of number. Which one gets the most frequent updates from Sony Ericsson? No one can answer. But one thing, my CDA 1201-8437 APAC-ANZ is "SEUS-friendly".

http://www1.davinciteam.com/f[....]s.html?&searching=K850i&page=1

In my opinion, these CDA strings are not public-consumption. Only SE understands why this phone has this 1202-7000 and why the others have 1202-8566. I think these "various strings" are highly related to the customisations installed in the phone.

I just copy-paste these many CDA strings from the website. Look at yourself, the CDA is so many...

The CDA is the string after CID 52..like 1202-7000, 1202-6075, 1202-8566, etc.
