Just tried to update my Orange branded K850i on SEUS, and says no update available. I can only assume it has been removed from SEUS. Are they going to release a version of software that works or not, as this is getting stupid. Can those that have managed to update their Orange K850i please let us know how much of an improvement there is to the phone, and does anyone know why it seems to be no longer available.

Just saw my first reset with R1EA031... The phone vibrated, turned on the keyboard light, and reset, blank screen and keyboard light on for a few secs until it showed the background again. |

When all of you guys having restarts get the phone back to the standby screen, has it changed the theme back to the colourite one.
About twice a day now i've taken it out of my pocket to find it asking me if i want to use the theme walpaper, finding its chaged to this theme.
I just thought i'd not locked it and pressed the right keys to do this the 1st time it happened, but i doubt it. i'd have one clever thigh otherwise!

I had the crystal theme, and it stayed with it. I've now switched to colorite to see if it will have the same behaviour. |

Im on Orange too. Just tried for the update but its been removed.
Im bored of this phone now and all its dodgy firmware updates, think Im gonna ditch it on eBay and get myself a nice new unbranded w890i. Plain, simple, slim, good build quality, and all Im hearing is a good things. |

Mine has done this with 29, 37 and 39 (which I'm now on). Usually when playing music and then saving a BestPic photo series.. perhaps when email arrives? Who knows. It seems to happen more on 39 now. Once or twice during my lunch walk when I listen to music and take photos etc.
I don't wait for it to reboot, I pull the battery out and restart.
An issue no-one else seems to have is BestPic sometimes take the same photo 9 times. This seems to occur a little less often on 39. I use BestPic a lot and it is quite a frequent problem.
This phone certainly isn't good at multi-tasking. |

Well everyone, i've gone back to my good 'ol trusty k800i. Just got sick of how SLOW the phone was, the fact that i couldn't listen to music via Bluetooth and do anything on the phone at the same time, and the annoying buttons. I'm writing this on my k800i and couldn't be happier with my decision. What a waste of time it was transitioning to the k850i! Think i'll just wait till the Sony Ericsson C902 arrives now. At least it'll be back to the old buttons and by all reports it's at least FAST! |

Ok theres something strange here. ok the phones creaks but ive not had any of the restart issues. everything is very fast now on the latest firmware. media player is much improved and so is batterylife as far as i can tell. going shiing next week so that will be the ultimate etst for it.
camera is also much much better. gone are the black photos
i would swap for something thinner but the firmware seems to be fixed for me, at least on orange. |

I have to say thats pretty much my exact experience of the Latest uk Vodafone Live! firmware. The phone is much faster when compared side-by-side to a 38 FW phone, the photos have all turned out good so far, and battery life has been returned to normal. I last charged the phone almost 3 days ago, and having lightly used the phone for texting and wap surfing, its now down to 52%.
no reboots yet either. |

Hey guys,
I've just had the blue-ring-of-death problem with the phone. Obviously it won't, now, turn on. Is there any way of fixing thing without either giving it to Sony, or Da Vinci'ing it? From what I understand, there's not.
Also, as an aside, i'm on Orange UK contract, though I debranded my phone. Will they get pissy if I take it in and say "It's broken"? Anyone know if they'll give me a replacement whilst it's being fixed, or if they'll just tell me to go via Sony? Also, if they do sort it out for me, will they cry because I debranded it?
Any info would be appreciated, ta. |

Took the plunge after curiousity got the better of me!
So far so good.
Battery life, as you say, vastly improved from '038.
Photos are better, and no sign of any dark ones i.e. flash seems better co-ordinated.
Overall much quicker.
Time will tell of course.
If only they would re-introduce the option of a time/date stamp on photos I'd be satisfied.

I too am more than satisfied with my FW upgrade, i'm on Vodafone and did it via SEUS, all great no reboots, media browser so much faster!
haven't noticed an improvement on the battery life, but then again i charge it every night so never have issue with that anyway. |
