all seems OK at the minute, phone seems faster too - like when they released 037 with the messed up branding.
Taken a few photos, and they look better than anything I've managed so far.
I'm giving this one a go though to see what the battery life is like, as even the missus has been complaining of the horrendous battery life on hers. She can get through her battery in 8 hours with moderate texting. She relies on the alarm on her phone though, so i'l lhave to make sure mines 100% stable before I update hers, or else i'll be in for a verbal bashing.
all this is after 10 minutes of playing though, so no hard evidence yet.

i will when i get my new usb cable, the original decided to break other day one of the pins got stuck inside it, new one off eBay cost £3 not bad but still shouldn't happen !!
I still don't know whether to debrand it, might do it if/when another firmware comes out |

I keep getting an error when i try and use the update service saying:
Incompatible Macromedia version. Required verision available from http://www.macromedia.com. Application will terminate.
How old is this app? do they not know that Adobe bought Macromedia over a year ago?
I updated all the software so no idea what to do. has anyone else had this problem? I tried searching this thread but there are over 400 pages in this thread |

I'm on Win XP and using Firefox as my default browser, but the update service is a standalone app so it's not using the browser or is it?
I have only just installed the PC Suite and update service from the SE website, so they are the latest versions, and launched the update service from the PC Suite using the external applications tab.
By the way, that was a speedy reply thanks
Edit:
One thing i haven't tried is restarting the PC, it is windows after all restarting solves so many problems with windows

thank you very much
It worked, i knew it was a good idea to join this forum
Guess it needs the Active X flash component to be installed rather than just the flash player
Edit:
All worked fine and firmware upgraded, phone seems a bit faster, but not sure it might just be wishful thinking

Look forward to hearing how you get on!
Battery life will be interesting, as '038 is poorer than '29 was IMHO. |

I have a branded, but yet unlocked O2 phone. I've heard that for branded phones firmwares come out 2 months after official release, or something like that, does any one know when the 038 firmware will come for O2, as I'm not too keen on using flashers |

Harry, you've been posting the same question for weeks... No one knows, they may not even be working on 38 now that 31 came out. 38 had its own probs, albeit not as bad as 31. Point being, stop asking questions that no one can answer. |
