Hi all!
I am new on this forum and would like to say hello to u all! 
got some doubts..
should i flash my K850 directly with R1EA031 or should i flash with 037/038 and then upgrade trough SEUS to 031
Or should i flash with 037 and stay on it till next FW?

is it just me who believe that the "restarts" (with R1EA031) nearly allways comes with people who have branded phones, or people who have use da vincis to unbrand their branded phones ????
i have never have one single restart, neither my 2 friends, (both have unbranded)
or is it people here with unbranded phones who gets restarts ???

You may be onto something. Mostly ppl with Branded phones that begin with and then unbranding via DaVinci.
A minute few with non-branded upgrading to 037/038 then going to 031.
SE has a serious problem on their hands along with DaVinci will need to clean up something, and FAST!

Nope - my phone started it's restart cycle which ended with the BROD (Blue Ring ...) after an SEUS update to 031. I had Never had it flashed with DaVinci or ANY other third party utility prior to that. Once I got the ring, I was forced to go to DaVinci because SEUS would start the process by downloading the FM and would be stuck on 0% after which it just told me that it's unable to flash. After I flashed with daVinci I put another version of 031 on the phone and it died again within 6 days. This time I flashed (DaVinci again because SEUS told me the same as the 1st time) to 037 and I'm staying with it. Knock on wood - no reboots. I just think that 031 is bunk firmware, maybe not across the board but at least for certain phones, which to me points to different hardware in the phone... Just a SWAG. |

My phone was bought unbranded from a serious store. I had no problems whatsoever until I updated to the last firmware. Then it began restarting and freezing in some java apps, and also had some bugs when viewing photos in media player (but nobody else reported this).
So I don't think it's related to branded phones.
Anyway, the person in charge of the first post should warn people that they can kill their phone with this firmware update. I think we had enough cases to say that it's not a rare problem anymore.

No it does not, I have 3 sweden, and still I have five 5's when i look, it's both locked and branded to 3. So... |

This morning i got my BROD  Gave it to the shop where i bought it, and they are sending it in for a repair - dont want to waste money on DaVinci, since i also have a squiky back on it, and some other minor problems. Now i gotta wait 2 weeks till i get it back :'( |

its not the firmware bug.
select the proper settings(A/V bitrate etc). i've no sync. prob at all with mine encoded video files. |

Don't know what you guys do with your phones but my K850i has not restarted or crashed once with firmware 031  |

Nope, My phone was bought unbranded at Dustin in Sweden and I got the infamous operation failed after a month (phone delivered with 029 FW). I flashed using SEUS to 037 but the problem didn't go away, so I got it re flashed by a SE center to 037 (loosing all settings). I upgraded to 031 as soon as it got released on SEUS and started getting the spontaneous reboots (0-2 a day). My Opera mini lost all setting s the other day as well (acted like on the first install).
So it's definitely something seriously wrong with this FW (or a combination of the HW and the FW)
I'm really really disappointed in the quality of this phone. |

I updaded to R1EA031 exactly when it appeared, i have an Adriatic unbranded version,
i had no bugs restarts or other problems until now, i just tried to charge my phone and i also got what you people describe as the blue ring of death,
i need an urgent solution as SEUS does not longer cooperates with my phone and i live abroad.
I dont think that Sony Service will help me here, is there another solution despite Da vinci to go through that problem???

Im confused as you say its not a firmware issue?
The vidoes on My K800 and other branded mobile phones play my Mp4s fine. Not one out of sync issue. However the K850i struggles.
It is a firmware problem or the phone cant handle the video with the processor in the phone.
The video plays the videos fine if you rewind the video after a few seconds, however after a min or so its out of sync again.
Before the last firmware, it was always out of sync so we have some improvement.
The K850i is a flagship model and im sorry to say as much as i luv it, I cant rate it to people.
Ive rated the T68i, T610, K700, K750, K800 and K810. When im aksed about the K850, I just say its ok, Nothing new lots of problems.
A Few people at work had the K850i, However only 2 are left. rest have got rid of it, or returned it as being faulty.
The creaking of the phone is shockingly poor, software is poor. With more problems in R1EA031 and I have the constant reboot problems.
In My eyes, SE have lost interest in the phone, cant be bothered in dealing with customer problems as when you email or ring them they just answer you with a blanket update.
I know that the Manufacture isnt going to admit that there is a problem, but R1EA031 is a better firmware than the other, but 6 months down the line the phone is still rebooting (More now than ever) and the basics still dont work. |

I have been a loyal lover of K Cyber-shot series. And K850i does NOT let me down at all. NO reboots at all regarding R1EA031 firmware. I use Opera Mini, camera, Gmail, streaming, Media Player, SMS, internet and most of the rest features everyday and I have NOT encountered rebooting at all. I just can't describe why most people experience it. | |
