has anyone heard of the feature of the ps3-psp - transfering your blu ray movies from the ps3 to the psp(of course not in hd quality)
i think that they should enable this for all their high end phones (and any blu ray player)

so all this convergence and multimedia focus should be seen in some forthcoming devices then, particularly the Pnext, which is hinted by the fact that the P990 is used in the slide show to demonstrate the before and after effect spec wise, so its really the case and point with regards to how the future models will develop

Indeed. That second-to-last slide was great, and while some of the things on there obviously won't make it to the P5 (8MP camera, etc.) it gave me a lot of hope. Hell, just the fact they added 850 Mhz made me excited.

Yep I like the predicted specs for 2010, but I want them now! The compatibility factor looks to be another stepping stone. I like this 'any' idea, where all of the major standards for a particular feature will be supported (wifi a/b/g/n, 'any' codec, multiple memory cards). TV, GPS, accelerometer and optical zoom all sound good. But compass WTF (GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM- lol!). They also want these additional features to fit into a handset which is smaller by comparisson. TBH though, none of this is THAT ambitious, as many of these features are already in the works when you look at the industry as a whole. So where are the projectors, 100Gb memory (this is what Nokia claims to offer by 2010)? Im sure they have much more coming in the next 2 yrs though. All thats been stated in this slide show is pretty much how they plan to perfect preexisting features and use already available means to do so.

In case you didn't know N93 was NOT the first to have VGA 30 Fps. the pioneer for that matter was none other than this:

We'll be on the scene in Vegas starting Monday, fingers crossed for Paris, Shiho, BeiBei, and any/all other new SE handsets. All of our CTIA coverage can be found here, including previews up now:

Not sure what SE will be doing (I'm following the rumors in this thread like you), but I do know that a few other phone makers and US carriers have touch-screen based "iPhone competitors" ready to be unveiled. For better or worse, it's the year of the touchscreen phone.

Exactly. The only thing that was really far-fetched was the physical size of the device. They could make a device with those specs tomorrow, but it would be a brick. But there has to be a happy medium, and that size is the limiting factor in 2008.

BTW guys, I'm hearing about Shiho as K850i successor, where's K850i faceleft or it was just a rumour or cancelled ?

If Shiho is more than 5.0MP then I don't think it will be facelift !! not to mention the OZ too !!

Isn't the c902 the k850 facelift? Maybe facelift is a bad word to use-I know it doesn't have the same body-but it's functions are pretty similar, and it'll keep the market satisfied till the succesor comes-isn't that the function of a facelift?

personnaly, I don't think so, a face-lift wont have a screen smaller than the original one, C902 have 2.0 and K850i has 2.2 screen.
I may ignore the Xenon flash as mentioned that the LED flash in C902 are special and strong and give much better brightness for power, + they can be run for long time ( like when recording video )

It maybe a good phone to fill the market in this time, but it's not the K850i face-lift

BTW, what do you think with ( follower ) as replacement for ( face-lift )

I wonder if people would still call C902 a facelift to the K850 if it had 3.2MPix cam. It definitely is not. I think SE facelifts a phone only if it's very successful on the market and / or quite ahead of the competition featurewise, wich proves that the facelift would sell good as well.

I was talking in terms of what was available to the European mass market.

A k850 facelift would have to incorporate all the exisiting specs of the K850. c902 is not a K850 facelift. Its just an alternative 5mp cam phone.

Beibei has UIQ 3.1 right? so shiho(if it's UIQ) may probably use the same platform as with BeiBei + some new interface similar to G900.
